A good read and the author had asked that it get to admins. Since they read these forums, I figured I would repost this here.

Nice idea for the con to run the whole MINI series.

Thanks to everyone at Conflagration for a great gaming experience.

Our group played the Mini Campaign Embers of Dawn run by Gary Affeldt in its entirety at the Conflagration convention in Milwaukee Friday at 8am to Sunday afternoon and I can honestly say I haven't had a better gaming experience at a convention in a very, very long time.

The experience of playing a complete plot with npc's we could connect and create relationships made for an especially unforgettable story and the things that arose with the quest card were incredibly compelling.

For me personally Mini 1-5 Pyrophobia by Rydia Vielehrwas the most enjoyable module I've played since long before 3.0 days (Classic RPGA Ravenloft module sticks in my mind and will never be forgotten this is a near tie) and I highly, highly recommend it to everyone. Our group pressed forward into the final combat with six surges between us (party of 6) for an incredibly nail biting yet unforgettable experience.

This is the type of experience I would sign up for more often, I hope there will be more mini campaigns and series of adventures that can be played together in sequence like this. If anyone would pass this on the campaign and convention organizers complete convention story-lines are immensely satisfying, it is certainly something I would like to see more of.

Everyone knows that gaming is a complete experience, the players of Snow White and the Three dwarves adventuring company Jerry , Myron, Rick and Michael along with various other cameos for 6th spot, Jack and Vincent and especially our Judge Gary contributed greatly to the experience and the play. The role-playing and party dynamic was well awesome. (heh)

Thanks a ton too to Rick Brown, Greg Marks and Todd Ammerman for putting Conflagration together (and contributing their talents to the storyline as well (know your authors folks))

It was an incredible time.

That's a great idea.  That's what we were going to do at DunDraCon until the last one got delayed by two months.  Wink

Our local store is running the MINI campaign with two fixed groups (everyone committed to playing on the same days, with the same party setups). We're doing them once a month, and so far they have  been great fun, and the 'continuing storyline' feel to them is fantastic. Very different from LFR's usual "today you are in the frozen north, yesterday you were in the jungles of Chult".

We ran thru MINI 1-2 last night, the last two fights were very tough. Our group was down to harsh language, headbutts and bull rushes by the time it was over, but we won. I've never had to leave any of my characters at 1 HP for more than one round (I'm a cleric/warlord hybrid in this series), but I did last night. Our paladin fought toe-to-toe with the big monster with only 2 HP for several rounds, a real nail biter of a melee. Very rough fight that could have went either way, fortunately we had some good tactics and a couple of lucky rolls when it really mattered. It was challenging, but ultimately satisfying in the end - we went out for pizza and some post adventuring discussion for future tactics.

In related news, the other table running this adventure got wiped out in the second round of combat, after a series of critical rolls by the big bad monster slaughtered their primary tank and primary healer.Frown

We are still enjoying the series, but we are finding it a good deal tougher than typical LFR adventure fodder. Oh, and it's official, we now kill cultists on sight. We might upgrade that to 'on suspicion of sight' if we have another fight like the last one. Wink
