I am just wondering if the HS1 The Slaying Stone is LFR legal, only because there are legal LFR backgrounds that have the adventure as source.

So is it legal for LFR play?

Which backgrounds are those?

Also, it's not an LFR adventure nor is it set in the FR.  You could run it as a series of MYRE adventures though.  You'd just need to follow the treasure guidelines in the MYRE packet rather than what's in the mod and change things up to set it in the FR.

Its under general backgrounds:

Citizen of Kiris Dahn
Defender of the Opressed
Goblin Foe
Redeemer of the Desecrated
Treasure Hunter

all have "HS1 The Slaying Stone" and I made sure to load Living Forgotten Realms as the campaign.

So that is why I was wondering if HS1 is legal or if htey just allowing backgrounds related to it.

Nope, just the backgrounds.  Most backgrounds are legal in LFR, as long as they don't refer to a specific non-Realms region.  For example, the Scales of War backgrounds are all legal in LFR, as well.

As Dragon9 notes, you could run it for LFR using the My Realms system, but it's not an LFR adventure in and of itself.

Just because the Character Builder says something is legal for LFR does not necessarily make it so.  You should always check the CCG to see what is actually valid for use in the campaign.

HS1 is not a player-legal rules source.  Backgrounds that show up in HS1, and aren't also in another legal source, cannot be used in LFR.

Ignore me, I'm stupid, the SoW background article was in Dragon.

Edit: darn it, I'm not the only one up late on a Saturday. ;)

The Scales of War ones probably shouldn't be either, now that I think about it. Scales of War was published in Dungeon, which is not a legal source.

The SoW backgrounds were in Dragon.  Only the adventures were in Dungeon.
