| #1alttprulesMar 06, 2009 10:28:30 | Is there any way other than looking at each individual adventure to find out what the level range is? And if not could someone Make a list of the adventures and their level ranges? |
| #2tirianmalMar 06, 2009 10:40:38 | Currently the mod code is a good indicator of the level range. Regional mods with a "-1" at the end [CORM1-1, WATE1-1...] are level 1-4. Regional mods with a "-2" at the end [CORM1-2, WATE1-2...] are level 4-7. Regional mods with a "-3" at the end [CORM1-3, WATE1-3...] are level 7-10. Core (CORE1-1...) mods are "special" and don't follow this rule but the earlier ones are lower level than later ones. ADAPs don't seem to follow any rules at all either. It is anyone's guess if the later mods will continue to follow this "rule". |
| #3alttprulesMar 06, 2009 11:46:19 | When will Adventures for paragon and epic tiers be released? |
| #4jeffvMar 06, 2009 11:58:35 | What tirianmal said, but a bit more detail on the levels for the non-regionals: CORE1-1, 1-2, and 1-3 are levels 1-4. CORE1-4 and 1-5 are levels 4-7. CORE1-6 and 1-7 are levels 7-10. (CORE1-8 isn't out yet, but it will be 7-10 as well.) SPEC1-1 is 1-4. SPEC1-2 is 7-10. ADAP1-1 is for levels 1-2. ADAP1-5 is for levels 1-4. You need to be level 1-2 to start ADAP1-2, and you can level up from there through ADAP1-2, 1-3, and 1-4. (Scepter Tower of Spellgard.) Next quarter's modules (April-June) will mess up the predictability of regional modules, since there will be a mix of all heroic level ranges. I'm sure there'll be documents out there detailing what modules are what (if nothing else, I'll put one together). As I understand it, paragon tier modules will start being released in the third quarter of 2009 (July-September), though I'm not certain that's been officially confirmed. My guess for epic tier is third quarter 2010, but that's just a guess. |
| #5kenobi65Mar 06, 2009 12:03:39 | The excellent, if unofficial, Oxford LFR site contains a database with info on all LFR modules (blurbs, level ranges, story arcs, etc.). I highly suggest bookmarking it: http://www.lfr-oxford.oxif.org/scenarios.html As I understand it, paragon tier modules will start being released in the third quarter of 2009 (July-September), though I'm not certain that's been officially confirmed. That's what I've heard, as well. I've also heard that the first Paragon-tier modules will premiere at GenCon in August, but I'm not sure if that's been confirmed, either. |
| #6KeithricMar 06, 2009 12:09:41 | It'd be nice if the range were in the module's name in some fashion, any fashion at all. |
| #7kinevonMar 06, 2009 12:16:27 | Actually, from what I have heard and seen posted by some of the LFR admin types, the regional 1-4 modules will be mixed as to level ranges, and that includes something like 1 or 2 of them being Paragon 11-14 level modules. The PDF for each quarter's releases, available from the links on the following site, has the level information and the blurb for each module: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/lfrx/adventures We are still waiting for the 2Q09 module list to be added. |
| #8_Mithreinmaethor_Mar 06, 2009 17:05:14 | Not to nit pick and show my old LG bias etc. But shouldnt the 1st modules for this year the -3's actually be 2-1 as in year 2, 1st quarter ? Yes I know we only started in August of last year but it really would make a little more sense that way. Of course that would have meant the modules last year should have been 1-3 and 1-4 modules. But hey no ones perfect. |
| #9lemurchild_dupMar 06, 2009 17:06:14 | That is a nifty link that I hadn't managed to find on the site, Kinevon. Thanks. |
| #10kenobi65Mar 06, 2009 17:31:07 | Not to nit pick and show my old LG bias etc. But shouldnt the 1st modules for this year the -3's actually be 2-1 as in year 2, 1st quarter ? Ironically enough, what LFR is doing is EXACTLY what LG did. LG started at GenCon in summer 2000 with their Year 1 modules; Year 1 LG modules were then released through the rest of 2000, as well as 2001. Year 2 LG modules didn't start coming out until the beginning of 2002. And, the number after the dash in LFR modules would only directly "map" to quarters for regionals, anyway...they release 3-4 Cores per quarter, as well as Adapteds, Specials, etc. |
| #11Keith53Mar 06, 2009 17:47:25 | Since starting in the second quarter of 2009 (2Q09), LFR will no longer produce all LFR adventures for that quarter in the same level band, the code for the adventure won't be a useful guide in the future. Sorry. The lockstep progression was just the initial effort to get a nice spread of adventures for all of heroic tier as quickly as feasible. Mark that done. The publication schedule for 2Q09 is working its way towards being released. Soon. The blurbs will always include the levels for the respective adventure. By design, the first year was considered to be the half year of 2008 and all of 2009. LG did the same its first year. Whether it has merit, I don't know and don't really care--seems minor to me. What will be offered at Gencon (and Origins) is being finalized. At some point, the game shows and/or WotC will make announcements. Mr Tulach already stated (at DDXP) that a LFR mini-campaign (a tight series of adventures designed for a specific region) will start at Gencon and finish up at DDXP 10. I don't think I can say much more. Keith |
| #12JohnLynchMar 09, 2009 2:05:45 | I don't think I can say much more. Thanks for the information you did provide Although some of it had been sussed out due to story rewards, its nice to have official word and also hear the rest ![]() |
