| #1ThanlisMar 03, 2010 8:35:16 | This month's Ampersand introduced a new stat block for monsters, which IMHO is pretty sweet. It divides the monster's actions up into standards, moves, minors, and reactions -- makes it easy to see what the monster can do at any given time. Will LFR be using this stat block going forward? And would you like volunteers to convert old modules? ;) |

I don't even think new adventures shall use the format until after the release of Monster Manual 3. I do wonder if the D&D Rules Compendium shall be updated to present the new format. I doubt it, but I certainly hope so. Sadly, my guess is the new stat block takes affect after June this year and we won't see adjustments anywhere in previous products. |

Which is a pity. |

I can almost guarantee you that older adventures will not be converted. The people that have the ability to generate the finalized PDF adventures (global admins and Chris Tulach) have enough on their plates (and always will). This is pretty low priority compared to the other work that they need to accomplish. Before someone asks - I can assure you that letting a volunteer make all of the changes (and I'm sure there are a few people out there that would volunteer for a boring task such as this) going to be out of the question. I can't imagine that Tulach would release that template to someone for that task. |

And you would need probably two people to verify the work. Nope, don't think it will (or should) happen. |
| #7SartredesMar 05, 2010 10:18:58 | Anyone know if after the new stat block becomes the standard if the Pre MM3 monsters in the Compendium will use it? If it does, you could just print the monsters stat blocks off from there since monsters from LFR adventures appear there. |

Greg responded on twitter that it's not likely for the old monsters to be updated to the new format. I'd imagine it's not as simple as just a new template that pulls from the old database, the format of the new monsters in the DB must differ mechanically from the old ones allowing the new format to work. My guess at least. Probably some field in there marking old monsters and new ones so the display program knows how to show the statblock. |
