I'm working on scheduling a convention for December (Gambitcon 3, for those who are interested).  Does anyone know of any upcoming paragon adventures that run long, like 6 hours or more, and should be scheduled accordingly?

Here are the Q4 paragon adventures:

AGLA 1-6 Twisted Roots Run Deep
CORE 1-15 Where Dragons Die
CORE 1-16 Fragments of a Shattered Mind
CORM 1-6 Curse of the Queen of Thorns
DALE 1-6 The Vesperin Initiative
IMPI 1-6 The Ancient Temple
MOON 1-6 Black Heart
TYMA 1-6 Troubled Roads
WATE 1-6 Out of Hatred

Thanks!

It helps a lot if people don't play up tier when they don't have the mojo to actually do so without said six hours.

I don't have tons of runs under the belt to say for sure but I can at least give my experiences

WATE 1-6, I ran this once, basically as fast as I could and we finished in 4:45 It can probably be done in 4 if the GM is VERY aware of pacing in noncombat and keeps combat running quickly.

AGLA 1-6 Played it twice, each one went over 5 hours but not to 6... If players are quick in combat decision making and there is little tabletalk about non game things I think this one can be done in 5 or less, again 4 is going to require calling fights in a reasonable time and Keeping RP focused on the goals

The rest, most aren't out yet to know.  Core 1-16 is a double round adventure so it's definately not 4 hours =)

DALE1-6 has lots of good role-play opportunity and involves NPCs/organizations from multiple regions. (There are 23 different story rewards that can impact the mod!) Good tips for running in a time-constrained environment, but you'll want someone with a lot of LFR experience (particularly knowing the NPCs involved) to run this smoothly in a convention setting.  (My home group is playing this, and we did the Story-rewards check and Streetwise checks to know/remember key NPCs via email prior to the session.) It will help if the judge is familiar with all of the related mods.

CORM1-6 reads like a Special to me. Characters are "on the clock," as are the players, which gets everyone on the page of "we need to keep this moving!" Even better, the group can earn full rewards (XP, treasure) if they are not able to finish every encounter in time.

CORE1-16, as previously noted, is a 2-round mod. This could be good for a convention, since you could play "straight through" the break in between sessions, and save some of the start-up/mustering/clean-up time.

As an additional note, be careful about ordering mods with a release date close to your convention date. Mod releases are running a little behind schedule, and you'll want to give your judges enought time to prepare.

Wate1-6 we knocked off in 4 hours with a mostly 12 party playing up, although the GM did call the final combat when we killed the BBEG.

Ignore me on this one, I was replying as if this was a different thread that I thought this statement was in.

Well, it is good advice regardless of whether mods are running a little behind schedule or not. If you plan on running an adventure not yet available, make sure you have a backup. Most adventures are released on time, but not all.
