| #1telvin3dSep 14, 2009 19:35:53 | Looking for a quick answer. Myself and several friends are going to be attending some local conventions over the next few months. Most of them are offering SPEC 1-3 so we are going to be encountering it multiple times. Now, seeing as SPEC 1-3 is effectively four different modules that have completely different stories, different encounters, different rewards and different story rewards can they be played by the same character in more than one level band? One of the major reasons I am asking is that since there are still very few P1 SPEC1-3 and ADAP1-1 seem to make up almost the entire Paragon offering at most conventions in the next while. While ADAP1-1 is basically the same adventure at every band SPEC1-3 is not. If we play these two at H3 and SPEC1-3 can not be played again at P1 there remain very few play options. |

Also, to address the original poster's comment about a dearth of Paragon play opportunities, let me just say that there are a lot of P1 (levels 11-14) adventures coming out in Q4 2009. |

Could you tell me where you found that or how you get it? Also, as a side note, why did this adventure come off of the download page a while back. I latched on to it early but it is not there anymore (at least up to yesterday.) |
| #5telvin3dSep 16, 2009 22:11:29 | Well, I asked the question of Customer Service shortly before I posted to the forums. The response I got back was You can only play in a specific adventure once per character regardless of tier. That seems pretty blunt. Anyone know if there is specific language in the adventure itself to contradict this? Otherwise, since Customer Service is a rule source and these forums are, well, not it would seem that you can't actually play SPEC1-3 multiple times at different levels. |

Rules source for the game rules itself. Do they count as a "rules source" for RPGA campaign rules? (I'm honestly not sure.) When I see the Global Admins contradicting that "rules source", I tend to put darned little weight on it (that, and CustServ doesn't have a sterling reputation for ruling consistency). |

I latched on to it early but it is not there anymore (at least up to yesterday.) Each adventure contains a story award which contains an "upgrade" if you have two similarly worded story awards. If you get a story award that somehow garners you a big favor with the eladrin of Myth Drannor or Evereska you can earn a special title. Note that besides the SPEC1-3 there is also one core available right now that can grant such a story award, and there might be more adventures involving Myth Drannor and Everska that grant them in the future (hence the use of the word "similar" - I wanted to include future story awards without the need to explicitely mention the older awards in the text). As for the download page, I remember reading that it was available on the private play and that was a mistake. For the time being it is only available for public play. I might be misremembering things... Note: LFR global administrator definitely trumps CS in this case. Just remember that this is a specific exception to the rule, although I am not sure whether it was specifically mentioned in the adventures. For virtually all other adventures CS' answer is quite correct. |

This is part of why the four parts of the adventure (each level band) are in the ordering system as separate adventures (SPEC1-3-1, SPEC1-3-2, SPEC1-3-3, SPEC1-3-4). As far as the system is concerned they are different adventures. So there is no contradiction other than the potential confusion of the four adventures having the same title. (And even then, they have different subtitles.) |
