| #1kzachSep 20, 2009 21:19:50 | I've decided that I'd really like to run the special quest events and the mini campaign attached to one of them. The problem with that is that there's a huge gap of levels between the mini campaign and the quest card adventure scenario that it unlocks. There is also the problem with the other quest card adventure that I don't know which modules help unlock it. The mini campaign (Embers of Dawn) is 1-4 levels and has all the opportunities to fulfil the requirements of the quest card (In Slumber Remain). The other quest card (Zhentarim Infiltration) however has no adventures tied to it, only requirements to fulfil and a vague link to adventures put out in 2008/9. The Black Cloaks & Bitter Rivalries quest can be done sometime in 7th to 10th levels so I'd need to fill in the gaps between 4th (assuming the mini campaign has enough XP to get them there) and 9th or 10th so that the group can be ready for Stir Not the World's Doom by 11th-level. So I was wondering if anyone could recommend some in-between adventures. |

As one starting point, CORM1-1, CORM1-5 are semi-related, BALD 1-1 and BALD 1-2 are too, and so are MOON 1-1 and MOON 1-2 ... but they are on opposite sides of a continent, so trying to string them together could be hard. Plus you can't play some of these directly one after the other since they are in different level bands. Edit: Ok, now you have me intrigued. I would start with ... CORE 1-1, you start in Sembia ... and start working your way west. CORM 1-1 and CORM 1-5 next, DRAG 1-1, BALD 1-1, CORE 1-3 drags you onto the Moonshae isles, MOON 1-1, at this point the characters are almost certainly 3rd, can play up and get more XP, so they'd go to Waterdeep and run WATE 1-1, LURU 1-1, maybe run ADAP 1-5, then head south for BALD 1-2, CORE 1-4, then finish up with MOON 1-2. They should now be 5th. Could be as high as 6th. This keeps your characters on a "trail" that runs west from Sembia, thru Cormyr, the Dragon Coast, into Baldur's Gate, the Moonshae Isles (with a tie into Amn), north into Waterdeep, Luruar, then back to Baldur's Gate, Amn, and back to the Moonshae Isles. These are also for the most part decent mods. |

I found a copy of the first adventure online and the first part of it states that I have to purchase the module to run it as an LFR game. Does that mean if I don't own the product that I can't report my session? Does it ask for some sort of key in the product? |

It just means that there is no way to run the adventure without the printed product. The RPGA doesn't provide the adventure for Adapted scenarios, just the (often minor) tweaks and conversions which are necessary to make the adventure fit within LFR. In other words, the RPGA will give you a document which says that after running encounter X within the adventure, you should award a certain number of XP, or make a particular item available, that you shouldn't make a different item available, that a certain NPC will react in a certain way, etc. Unless you have the actual adventure, you won't know what to do! |

Oh cool, so you've played through these? Do you know when they'll be available? |
| #9AlphastreamSep 22, 2009 19:41:25 | TheSPEC1-3 mods are available for convention play. I think they become available for home play next year. The MINI campaign release schedule... the first two are released and the next 4 come out between now and February. |
