| #1tildeseeNov 12, 2008 6:05:07 | So is it just me, or do none of the modules released thus far incorporate the rules updates (errata) to the DMG? I played through DRAG1-1, and the Filth Fever had DCs reminiscent of pre-update Filth Fever instead of the updated version. In addition, all of the skill challenges I've seen in modules I've been running as a DM (LURU1-1, CORE1-1 through 1-3, and IMPI1-1) have DCs that would indicate that they haven't been updated, and have variable failure numbers instead of the flat "3 fails and you're out" change. Is this intentional, or should I exercise the "change this adventure as you need to in order to enhance play experience" clause? ~C |

If something in an adventure was changed by errata, the DM can use his best judgment in deciding whether to use the adventure as written or use the errata. Shawn LFR Global Admin |
| #3kithranNov 12, 2008 6:49:33 | As has been mentioned on a number of occasions the first set of adventures were written before the first errata were finalised - at the time they were finalised admins believed the DC's for skill challanges would be reduced by 5 and no change would be made to the number of failures. As such the first set of adventures were adjusted with this in mind. When the errata was acutally released the DCs dropped by 10 and the number of failures was set to always be 3. No one can go back into the module and edit the DCs before it is released? Heck, it would even be easly to go back and edit the old ones! This is the primary advantage of a digital product, yet it is being treated as a print product. Send them to me, I will do it. |
| #5smerwin29Nov 13, 2008 8:09:39 | If WotC sends me the final version of the file--the one that they put into the ordering system--I can certainly make edits and send it back to them. Then they can put the new version back up into the system. But that decision, and the whole adventure creation/upload process, is in WotC's court. Shawn LFR Global Admin |
| #6stuartgreenwellNov 13, 2008 8:18:53 | Exactly, and that should be what is happening for Major errata, like these system-wide DC adjustments. And Shawn, for the record, my post wasn't meant to be accusatory to you. It is just a general frustration with the system. We all know how hard it is to get things posted to the ordering system in the first place. If WotC sends me the final version of the file--the one that they put into the ordering system--I can certainly make edits and send it back to them. Then they can put the new version back up into the system. |
