Soooo... what's the 1 mean?

Dec 23, 2009 3:15:02 Every adventure published so far is 1-something. All of them. Is that perhaps to signify "year 1"? Personally, I don't really see myself wondering what year of the campaign a module came out. On the other hand, I am all the time wondering whether a mod is 1-4, 4-7, or so on. This wasn't hard to remember when only a few mods were out. If it was 1-1, it was level 1-4. If it was 1-2, 4-7. But as soon as the 1-4s started coming out, I had to ask "Is that new Akanul 1-4 a one to four?"

In general, it's important to know what level band a module belongs to. For a while, I had a few 1-4s, no 4-7, and one 7-10 character. This made it a nightmare to navigate con sign-ups because I had to double check the level bands of almost every mod that was offered.

Well, at least there are relatively few mods in each region... except for core . They're up to what? Core 1-17? Just wait. I bet that one region's 1-4, 2-4, and 3-4 will all belong to different level bands.

Dec 23, 2009 3:21:27 1-X means Year 1 and the X number tells you the order it was released in for that region.

In 2010 the 2-X modules will start - 2-1 through 2-5 at a guess for each region.

One hopes not all the 2-X mods are being finalised now, that would make it impossible for new authors to gain a writing oportunity for who knows how long.

etc... wishful thinking really but it would be nice
