Given that the mods are ready and being run at GenCon this weekend, I'm going to bet that GenCon preparations is the delay. That's just a guess, but it's a damn big con for WotC, and I'd guess it eats away at all their resources until it's completed.

Why schedule releases around GenCon, then? Might be better and less frustrating for organizers to suggest no release dates until the week after GenCon, rather than make August commitments they've never been able to honor.

You realize that you can contact your regions POC to get the modules as well. And as an event organizer I would not plan a module unless I had it in hand in advance.

If I cant download it and my POC cant get it to me then it doesnt get scheduled.

Hey there - the following adventures:

... were all indeed GenCon premieres. As stated above, GenCon is a "big money" show for WotC and the DCI (oh, RPGA... ) and as such, certain adventures are reserved for premiere status, and then slated for WotC exclusive distribution for a short period. These adventures, as well as ADCP1-1, SPEC1-3 and a few others, are definitely published but will not be available for public/ private WPN play until they are added to the database.

While we as organizers and players are quite certainly eager to play the new adventures, we have to remember that D&D is a business! We receive a load of new adventures all year long for free, but WotC writes checks to the people that write adventures, so to recoup that some adventures are reserved to act as incentive to attend the big shows (GenCon, DDXP, Origins, etc).

Hope that helps! As for the other adventures, I don't have much information for you. Hold tight, as now that the convention is over we should see them shortly.

The adventures: EAST1-5, CORE1-13, CORE1-14, and MINI1-1 are available to the LFR admins. If the WPN release date has passed, you have an upcoming event, AND you cannot order/download it from the WPN system, you may ask your regional LFR admin (typically the Event Manager) and he can provide a copy for you. (This is a back up procedure, not the primary method to order an adventure.)

I don't know if BALD1-5 and/or CORE1-12 have issues, OR if they were simply caught by Mr Tulach's vacation before Gencon, and the Gencon hassles. All of the Global Admins were also involved with Gencon so senior staff impact was pretty severe.

I did that and was told by my admin that they couldn't give it to us, because he didn't have it.

That's not what it said on the release schedule. I have no problem with WoTC having such mods, but they ought to mark them as such. Indeed, Spec1-3 and AdCP1-1 were marked as Gencon premiere, public play only. Core1-13 was just marked as due for release on 12th August.

With Chris back in the office this week, I hope he corrects whatever problem there is with the posting of adventures. (Before WotC goes to PAX.)

The Special has its own rules about public play, then in roughly six months becoming available for home play. The Adventuring Company (ADCP) adventures will only be available for public play. I hear the second MINI campaign (set in Undermountain) will also be for public play only, renamed LFR Excursions. (second hand info)

The adventures I mentioned are currently available to the LFR Admins; I just looked that they were still there. I don't know when you asked, but 3 of the adventures I listed were available as of mid July, and the other two in August.
If you want me to check with the admin, please send me an offlist/offboard email (LFRWDHoffman@aol.com) with the admin's name.

What about BALD 1-5?

Greetings...

We are getting caught back up, but we aren't all the way there yet.  I think all that we're missing at this point are TYMA1-4 and BALD1-5.  We're aware of both of those and are working to get them released as quickly as possible.

If there are other adventures that should have shown up (per the release schedule) but aren't appearing in the database, let us know.

Yeah, we're prepping for PAX (which premiers MOON 1-5, the alleged continuation) and that question has come up at least once on the Judges' mailing list.

CORE1-14 is not in the system (I just checked). It had revisions that Shawn and I worked on together and should be with Chris Tulach. They were important enough that I believe the wait will be well worth the final improvement.

Ah yes -- I can definitely understand why people would be concerned about that.  Feel free to assure the folks on the PAX list that it is not a problem.  The good news is that while BALD1-5 and MOON1-5 are indeed linked thematically (there are NPCs and over-arching story elements in common), it is not a problem at all if you play them in either order.  They are each self-contained adventures.  Also, MOON1-5 is not the conclusion; there will be a Year 2 Baldur's Gate adventure which serves as the completion of the Major Quest.

So, to be clear, characters who play MOON1-5 then BALD1-5 will be no better or worse off with regards to the Major Quest than characters who play BALD1-5 then MOON1-5.  A player who plays MOON1-5 without first having played BALD1-5 also should not be confused from a story standpoint.

As I said, we are getting caught up as quickly as we can, but I hope that helps.

Well, I knew all that from playing the Slot 0 - but I didn't want to say it.

My cunning plan to force a campaign admin to do it worked beautifully... Smile

I'm glad that I was able to assist you with your cunning plan.  Had it been a subtle plan instead, I would have had to refer you to the nearby harpsichord. Laughing

CORE1-13 & IMPI1-5 can be sanctioned, but the download links are not active when I go to My Events.

Well, CORE1-14 is finally in the system for private play, but is also the pre-errata version. Cry

I also noticed that SPEC1-3 is available under private play, though I suspect it should only be available for WPN/public play.

ADCP1-1 is missing from public play.
