| #1szwangerNov 19, 2009 16:08:59 | TYMA 1-3 Tools of the Trade begins a major quest. Is it continued in either TYMA 1-6 Troubled Roads or TYMA 1-7 Hidden Cargo? Their adventure descriptions don't mention it. Incidentally, the handout for TYMA 1-3 that describes Ruinspoke mentions Mulhorand a couple of times, including an NPC who moved to Tymanther from Mulhorand. Is that an error? That land is now High Imaskar. |
| #2Lord_ToastNov 20, 2009 8:32:52 | I gave TYMA 1-6 a brief read through and didn’t see the quest mentioned. I’m going to run the adventure tonight, so I will have a better answer for you soon. Please feel free to visit the Tymanther LFR group and update the Adventures section on the wiki….I didn’t know there was a TYMA 1-7… the mention of Mulhrond is a mistake in my opinion. I think the first 3 adventures were written before they had access to the FRCG manuscript. |
| #3Lord_ToastNov 20, 2009 15:27:57 | The quest isn't continued in TYMA 1-6. I did discovered that Mulhorand does still exist to a certain existent. There is a city called Gheldaneth that the cleric could have come from originally. |
| #4soccerref73Nov 20, 2009 22:27:17 | SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS There is a link between TYMA1-3 and TYMA1-6, but it is so subtle that I don't think it is actually going to be possible for anyone to make the connection until after they play the conclusion of the Major Quest, whereupon things will make more sense. (To be clear, not making the connection should not inhibit anybody's enjoyment of TYMA1-6 in any way -- it is not really even an element of the plot of TYMA1-6 and can be missed entirely with no consequence.) In hindsight, during the final review process I probably should have edited something in to make the connection a little bit more meaningful in the events of TYMA1-6 and link it more directly to the quest line from TYMA1-3, but TYMA1-6 really kind of stands on its own anyway because of its location. I might see if I can update the blurb to mention that TYMA1-6 is technically the continuation of TYMA1-3's Major Quest, but from a plot standpoint, it isn't going to affect anybody if they don't realize that there is actually a thread running between the two adventures. The much more obvious continuation / conclusion of that quest is currently planned for TYMA2-3, which will be for levels 14-17. Of course, that is still very much in the planning stages; everything has to be approved by the LFR Plot Committee at WotC, the adventure has to come in on time and get through the editing process, etc. etc. etc. But, that is the current plan as I understand it from the Tymanther Writing Director. Mulhorand does have a surviving city of sorts, by the way: check out Gheldaneth on page 139 of the Forgotten Realms Campaign Guide. That being said, I agree that it probably would have been better for us to refer to High Imaskar in the player handout. |
