| #1darthreedJun 20, 2011 15:58:08 | All of the datums that my webfu can uncover with regards to writing for LFR seems to be quite obsolete and several years old... Along with anticipated flames for posting in the wrong forum or being a clueless n00b who can't search the webernetz, would someone please point me in the direction of the entry point(s) for the current "good ole boy network" responsible for LFR content production and delivery? Thanks! |
| #2kenobi65Jun 20, 2011 16:51:08 | Here's a starting point: this isn't the right forum. This is a "legacy" forum -- it's a leftover from the time prior to the development of the Wizards.community set-up. There is an LFR group on the "new" forums, and that's where the campaign's official forums now reside. Importantly, the campaign staff moderates the new forums, and is usually quite good at quickly replying to questions. Also, as you may have noticed, there's very little traffic in this (old) forum -- there's a lot more traffic on the new forums, and you're more likely to get more responses to your question there, so you may want to re-post there. You can find the new forums here: community.wizards.com/lfr/go/forum/viewb... Note that you'll likely need to join the LFR group there before you can post. Within the LFR group, there's a wiki which has info on writing for LFR (though it's probably somewhat out of date, given that the campaign has changed its structure this year): community.wizards.com/lfr/wiki/Writing_f... I hope this helps. |

It probably isn't entirely wise to refer to the administrative staff as a "good ole boy network"; admins (especially those of us who got a position that "good ole boys" were passed over for) might not look keenly on it ;) In terms of a direct answer to your question, the thoughts already discussed here are really good. I just wanted to add that in a couple months, I'll be making an open call for NETH Year 4 adventures (in the other, more heavily trafficked, forum). Keep an eye open for it and be sure to follow the directions in the request (I'll be really picky on formatting, since formatting was the biggest snag I faced editing the NETH3-X adventures this year). |
| #5darthreedJun 22, 2011 16:17:03 | Thanks all for the redirections (and flames). Correction of incorrect assumptions I had [based on the v1.5 LFR writing guidelines that are still lying about, blog posts and wiki links to email addresses that don't answer] are much appreciated. I will summarily teleport myself (and my split infinitives) elsewhere and commence with further lurking and assimilation to determine if this is the right target upon which to expend my moonlight effort. [Mucho apologies to those for whom quotation marks and emoticons carry insufficient clarification of humorous intent across the webernetz.] Perhaps future archaeologists will discover this thread and be saved the asking for a similar trip to the proverbial woodshed of their own. ![]() |
