Any suggestions would be appreciated. For now I was thinking the Dalelands. The foresty area sounds good for a kenku ranger. |

My kenku is an escapee from kentucky, he was a slave to the butcher of the south known as the Colonel (how the hell is that pronounced ker- null) but he escaped with the secret recipe and travelled to amn, where he sold it to some crazy merchants and then became an assassin, training to one day go back home to kentucky and slay the colonel, then serve him up using is very own extra crispy secret recipe. |

| #8Dragon9Dec 17, 2009 17:06:12 | Thanks, I've wondered where the pronunciation of colonel came from. Now, why do the Brits pronounce the F in leutenant? I chalk it up to the Brits being a bit off. ;) Well, as you can see, there is no f in lieutenant. And the Brits only say Leff-tenant in the navy. The Old French spelling of lieu was leuf (yet pronounced the same as far as I can tell). This seems to give explanation to why they say leff-tenant. Incidentaly, I found that in Greek when a u follows an a, e, or ie it's pronounced as ef. I'm not 100% sold on the validity of that, but it may have somehting to do with the evolution of the pronunciation if true. |

Medieval English sounds a lot like medieval Dutch. It is related to how the Saxons pronounced it. In short, that is what you get mixing French, German and Celtic language with no rhyme or reason ;) |

You can make the Beastlands your home region. You just don't have a background or background benefit for it (because there exists none) . You can take a Scales of War background benefit though. |
| #11tancreadJan 11, 2010 13:05:33 | I went with Shou for my background, using Dragon Coast as someone above suggested. I would note that Kenku turn up in the Mini campaign so the Tamurlane and Wind Rise areas might also work well. |
