#1 arvagor Mar 15, 2009 21:52:10	Can anyone recommend any miniature lines for representing warforged? I have most (all?) of the WotC D&D minis representations, but I'm looking for something a bit different... Plastic or metal makes no difference to me. Reaper has the right idea with this guy: http://www.reapermini.com/FigureFinder#detail/03204 (although he is a bit on the large size, even for a warforged)... I've also looked at battletech/mech type stuff, and they're usually a bit *too* robotic for my tastes, not too mention usually outfitted with too many guns

The last guy has possibilities, though he's much closer to human than robotic... FWIW, here's another good example of what might work: http://www.privateerpress.com/HORDES/gallery/default.php?level=picture&id=137 To elaborate, I'd love to find something with a very archaic feel; strangely enough the best way to describe i would be if I could find something with an Egyptian, or Middle-Eastern, or even Asian feel to the style... No small order I guess :-)
#4 pint_glass_crusader Mar 16, 2009 2:03:56	There are a number of golem minis for the Mage Knight line that are pretty good for Warforged... I recently converted and painted one for a friend. I don't have time now to post any links, but if you check the Wizkids Mage Knight site you will find a few that are pretty close. Incidentally, Mage Knight is discontinued, so you can normally find the minis quite reasonably priced.
#5 eljeffex Mar 16, 2009 13:19:16	I use the first mini, but modified. I attached the sword arm "up high" instead of "back and away" and put the mini on a one-square base. I also bent the forward facing arm and attached a shield to it. All in all, it makes him imposing and huge, while still taking up the same space as other one-square minis (and actually less than some supposedly smaller minis I've seen.) Plus, I gave him a cigar.

Hobby lobby (local craft store) had a box of 1" mosaic tiles for like $5.. which were perfectly sized for the 1" square grid.. I just place the mageknight minis at an agle so their feet fit perfectly.

Thankfully, my warforged has nothing to do with Gond ;) But I have considered some of the SW minis as possibilities, specifically the Sith Operative (KOTOR) and the Mandalorian Blademaster (Bounty Hunters) -- the various droids have too little in the way of potential expression, IMO, and still seem too robotic for my tastes...

I just place the mageknight minis at an agle so their feet fit perfectly. I simply pop them off their bases and stick them to 30mm round bases to match all my other minis. then plug the base with a bit of modelling putty to add a bit of weight and give a flat surface for the flock. In addition, the MK minis are plastic, so they are very easy to convert. If I get a chance, I'll post a link to some photos.
#11 Dragon9 Mar 17, 2009 13:47:32	Well... Tree Elemental - Has potential i think, since Warforged are made of wood and stuff. YMMV. Also, Warmachine minis from the protectorate of Menoth are good choices too since they often have full helmets on and the "steampunk" style armor can be a good fit for warforged.
