Name: Bostauran (boss-TAR-un... it's a play on the genus/species name for cattle)
Race: Minotaur
Class: Barbarian (Rageblood)
Male, 7'3", 350 lb.
Background: Durpar (+2 Perception)
Deity: Illmater

Condensed Backstory: He was a slave of burden in Durpar, owned by a wealthy merchant of dubious scruples. During a caravan, it was attacked by members of the Companions of Noble Heart, as it seemed the Merchant was transporting goods relevant to the followers of Loviatar. Bostauran, in a pitiable state, was spared by the ilmatari, and one of the paladins took him as his charge to nurse him back to full health and to train him to never be put under the yolk again. He taught him to channel and control the anger and pain inside him, not just from his nature as a minotaur, but from the suffering at the hands of his cruel master. He now does his best to champion the suffering and to control the boiling rage inside him.

Stats: 18/17/14/8/11/10
Defenses: AC 15, Fort 16, Ref 12, Will 10
Hp: 32, bloodied: 16, Surges 8 @ 11 hp

Skills: Athletics (8), Nature (7), Perception (9)

Powers:
Level 1 At wills: Howling Strike, Recuperating Strike, Rage Strike
Level 1 Encounter: Avalanche Strike, Swift Charge (barbarian), Goring Charge (minotaur)
Level 1 Daily: Bloodhunt rage

Future Powers: Primal Viltality utility 2, Blade Sweep attack 3, Thunderhawk Rage attack 5, Inexorable Shift utility 6, Tide of Blood attack 7, Stone Bear Rage attack 9, Wellspring of Renewal utility 10

Level 1 Feat: Weapon Prof: Execution Axe

Feats to take during Heroic tier: Weapon Focus, Powerful Charge, Power Attack, Opportunity Gore, Natural Cunning. (other Heroic tier feats in the running: Toughness, Durability, Greathorn which may be taken in Paragon Tier) All thsi is subject to change when PHB 2 comes out with the barbarian specific feats

PP: Beastblooded Minotaur.

Stat bumps to Str and Con. Con is high to take advantage of the Rageblood riders in powers as well as other powers with Con bennies.

Of course it will be interesting to see what options are presented for Barbarians in the PHB 2. So much of this may be moot (or retrained). I plan on playing this character through SToS.

What about the stat array from your other thread?

Str 18
Con 16
Dex 14
Int 8
Wis 10
Cha 13

I liked that better because you're not sacrificing your Will Defense completely, and should be boosted (Str and Cha) each level (your backstory mentions something along the lines of learning self control and this may help emphasize that).

Also what mini would you use?

Unfortunately all the axe wielding ones are large, and the one in Demonweb has a shield. Here's the one from Archfiends that might work:

I typed a whole bunch of stuff, and I lost it. I'm too lazy to type it again. :P Suffice it to say, there's a method to my madness.

This is the mini I want to use (provided it isn't too large)

Unfortunately the link is broken.

Dragon9's image shows up fine for me (both in his post and yours claiming the link is broken), whereas yours, in the post before his, shows up as a graphic saying "picture not available", with a squirrel as part of the image (and looking, in many ways, like an old M:tG multi-colored mana card, with the gold border, from the Legends set). Very strange mini for a barbarian. ;)

Only problem with Dragon9's image, IMO, is there is no way to tell scale, and therefore answer his question as to whether it is the right size, at least for those of us who don't own a physical copy of that mini.

Ok I fixed my link (and it should work as the source is WotC).

IIRC there are only 2 Minotaur minis from WotC that are medium size. It's odd that they released the one in Archfiends that at the time it seemed worthless...but now with the Minotaur being a playable race it seems needed.

anyway...

Rackham has a boxed minotaur mini, and I'm sure that one is bigger. The Kelt faction has some minotaur minis that wold be good for tempest fighters or TWF rangers also.

You have very good taste in minis! :D

And expensive taste! No one nearby carries them and most mail order places carried some that I was looking for but not all fo them so I had to order from Rackham directly. $90 for 3 minis (which includes shipping & handling and conversion to Euros).

Yeah, I've heard horror stories about that. There is hope tho ... at the last con I was at, I got into a discussion with a couple of FLGS owners who happened to have a good deal of Rackham stuff. Apparently the secondary company Rackham used to handle all of their US distribution and marketing (which one it was exactly escapes me at the moment, although I remember it was a fairly big-name company) completely dropped the ball. Stores just weren't getting the support and the product they needed, which is why Rackham production died down for a while. Eventually (as these guys told it) Rackham found out about the slipshod handling of their account, and recently decided to take matters back into their own hands. So, what I have heard is that production has started up again, and this time localized support will be handled a -LOT- better. So if this isn't just a rumor, that means soon we'll be able to start ordering them from local carriers or just pick them up in person at FLGSes. I hope that's the case because you're right ... 20 Euro shipping per order really sucks.

Well, I just played him in his first mod, CORM1-1, and he did pretty well in High Tier. Granted, anythign that wanted to attack him would hit him, but that was usually all they'd get, 1 hit. The last encounter, move in, Avalance Strike, action point then Bloodhunt rage was a nasty combo: 3d12 + 4 on each, +3 extra on avalanche strike (and +3 on Bloodhunt Rage since the opponent was bloodied after the first hit). Each one hit for over 30 pts of damage. I'm liking this build.
