| #1Jay_Ibero_911Dec 01, 2009 11:13:35 | Ok, an ornithopter is a fun alternative to mounted combat in wide open outdoor adventures. But with only 40 hp and bleh defenses, it has somewhat of a huge target painted on it. So what can one do to protect their investment? Well the Make Whole ritual will let you fix it for 1/5 it's price, but that can add up quick. Conveniently however, Make Whole is considered an Exploration ritual, so that means with the Vistani Pathfinder feat you can cast it for free 1/day. With this you have a reliable method of keeping your 'thopter up and running. Of course there is the issue of needing 2 hands to operate an ornithopter, which means most characters will be unable to fight while flying. There are 2 scenarios that get around this though. The first is to be a cleric and focus entirely on holy symbol powers, since holy symbols do not require a hand to use. The other is to be a warforged(or someone with the self forged PP) character with a shoulderbow, which also does not require any free hands. |
| #2Jay_Ibero_911Dec 02, 2009 18:07:58 | Heh, another fun combo that free use of rituals enables: Beastmaster Ranger+Vistani Pathfinder+Beast Growth Especially with a Gnome or Halfling, you can make your companion big and strong enough to act as a mount for 8 hours each day. |
