Would losing Channel Divinity: Turn Undead in favor of Channel Divinity: Healer's Mercy count as a class feature retrain per the retraining rules in the RPGA Character Creation Guide?

Yes.

The one time only class feature retrain? I'm not sure about that one. The channel divinity option you get is treated more like the choice between ritual caster or alchemist for wizards/bards/artificers etc.

Maybe it will require the one time change, though that seems to be pretty crappy compared to the change other classes can accomplish with that same retrain.

I'd also use the Character builder as support for that choice, since when making a cleric there is no "Cleric type" choice like there is for rogues "Rogue tactics" fighters "fighter talents", to a cleric there is no separate build types, just the optional ones that don't autoselect the CD.

It's clearly called out as a Class Feature in DP.

guess it is, that sucks for clerics I guess, but then again, retraining that allows you to also retrain 2 feats and 2 powers at the same time. That works out I guess.

I'm tempted to do it for my cleric as she's a Cleric of Kelemvor and has already got Kelemvor's Judgement. But on the other hand, you can never have too many Undead-slaying effects (and she has a Medic's Weapon).

Pity the range on Turn Undead is so pants.

Having run into undead so rarely, but seeing the need for more healing, I'm strongly considering retraining my cleric into this.

Make sure you play the special first *cough*

Yah, that's a known outlier.

Healer's Mercy finally makes the 10 Wis cleric a truly viable alternative.
The only universal thing left that is affected by Wis is Healer's Lore, where you are giving up a few points on your heals.

I'm definitely retraining to it on my Str19/Wis14 cleric (that will also let me pick up a couple of new powers I like at the same time - no feats to change though). I just wish I could retrain that Wis14 down a bit at the same time. :P
