Rituals in LFR play?

My artificer has finally collected a set of ritual I think are useful and her reconnection to her Vistani ancestry (Vistani Healer) allows for a certain amount of free ritual casting. I was wondering what rituals people were finding useful and have been able to use during LFR adventures.

The most notable rituals I was planning to use on a daily basis for free are Fantastic Recuperation and Raise Dead. I was also figuring on casting Steed Summons to get more use out of my Nightmare. The Vistani Pathfinder feat will likely be added for expense free to access some useful exploration rituals like Waterborn and Water Breathing in future levels.

There's this ritual that lets you rearrange healing surges amongst party members.  Forgot what it was called, but I'm pretty sure it is in Divine Power.

Comrades Succor. Probably the most useful ritual and a must for Clerics.

Raise Dead - you hope you don't need it, but sometimes you do.

Remove Afflication - ditto.

Brew Potion - there are some very useful low level potions that you don't necessarily want to carry around, but can come in handy in specific circumstances.

Darklight (is that the name?) - creates a zone that you can see in, but is obscured from the point of view of enemies outside.

Water Breathing, Waterborn, etc. - avoiding the underwater combat penalties is huge. Being able to move (swim) without making Athletics checks is huger.

Hand of Fate, Water Walk, Tenser's Floating Disk, Arcane Lock and Make Whole I've used on top of the above list in several LFR mods.

I find rituals can sometime negate skill challenges but then as a DM I have no problem with PCs using a ritual that leads to the same ends. Some may same that's exchanging gold for XP but hey, if the ritual fits.....

Tenser's Floating Disk and Hand of Fate, and Make Whole once or twice, and that's pretty much it. My character has at least a dozen others, but the situations for them simply never come up.

Comrade's Succor sounds nice but I don't think I've ever seen any character in LFR run out of healing surges.

Traveler's Camouflage - huge bonus to stealth for the whole party while out of combat.

Comrade's Succor does sound useful but, as an Artificer, I am probably the last character likely to need that ritual. If I have my eyes open while healing, I should be able evenly manage party surges with my own ability. Great ritual for other healers though.

My druid cast Animal Messenger, because it was free. Everyone, including the DM, was stunned that someone actually did a ritual!

p.s. Since the most common animal to use with Animal Messenger is a bird, does that mean that druids communicate with "twitter"?

Unseen Servant - so useful my arcane caster changed familiars to get more frequent access to it
Tenser's Floating Disc - useful about every other adventure, all my healers/leaders have it
Make Whole - could be renamed "Break Module" its so handy
Comrade's Succor - lets the team tanks help out with healing if they want, by donating surges to their allies who have run low (this has been surprisingly important to several players of fighters/paladins)
Traveler's Camouflage - great for outdoor adventures
Comprehend Language - very useful in ancient tombs/crypts/etc
Endure Elements - another one that is great for outdoor adventuring
Banish Vermin - situational, but it has saved the party, and goes well with one of my character themes
Familiar Mount - not only cool, thematically, but useful for both combat and movement

I use other rituals, but those are my favorites.

Nobody ever mentions Water's Gift. Best ritual for underwater and half the price and 4 levels lower then Waterborn.

However Waterborn can be cast with arcana or nature instead of only nature and has the part of protection from pressure and cold (although these two seem to be more fluff than mechanical benefits, but maybe some mod author will add something about pressure and cold)

Those appear to be primarily fluff rituals.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I would mention it if any of my characters had played an underwater adventure in the past two years. But they haven't. I'm sure that any LFR adventure featuring a lengthy underwater section would provide you with a scroll anyway.

On my Wizard, I use Comprehend Languages on a regular basis in LFR modules. Yes, I shock groups when I do so but then I surprise them with how easily I can help the group accomplish its goals. A little bit of creative ritual use goes a long way in LFR modules.

(grins) Come play with our group for a while, and you will see that they are definitely not fluff. Some are situational (Banish Vermin, for example), but if you can arrange the circumstances they can be outstanding. Unseen Servant is used every encounter by my thief (not rogue, thief).

As far as Familiar Mount goes, consider the usefulness of a flying familiar, a 5 minute ritual (2.5 minutes with a scroll), and a 12 hour duration.

"Your familiar grows to Large size and can accommodate you as a rider, and it is in active mode for the duration. You can end the ritual by returning the familiar to passive mode with a minor action. If the familiar takes damage equal to 5 + one-half your level or more, it returns to its normal size and to passive mode."

There have been half-dozen or so adventures that take place under water. They usually provide you with Water Breathing ritual or scroll, but then you are still hosed when fighting underwater. I would rather have access to my own choices and not depend on kindness of strangers. Last time I did this I got applause from my group and the GM, who did not need to track our penalties for underwater.

is that a giant disembodied hand floating behind you giving the finger to every enemy you fight?

This is the lost Bigby's Spell, of course. "Bigby's Salute" I think it was called.

I sort of mentioned it upthread, except I couldn't remember the name so I just put it under "etc.".

Waterborn is so good compared to the others that I think it's mis-leveled. (Is that a word?)

I fancied being frivilous with my Cleric during my last level up and bought Leomunds Secret Chest (I think that's the right name???) and the focus to go with it.

However, in the very next module, the characters were taken to a masquerade ball, with no weapons or armour! Surprised

When the inevitable combat encounter kicked off... one minor action later and a chest full of miltary ordinance appears... those were very unhappy minions! Laughing
