Dec 09, 2008 0:53:56 I see some Scales of War backrounds that look nice (wandering Duelist, in particular) but are they usable in LFR?

CCG 1.7, p. 6, first bullet point ("Select a character background"):

Character backgrounds from sources other than the Forgotten Realms Player’s Guide are not legal for Living Forgotten Realms play.

And, further down on that same page:

The character backgrounds from the Forgotten Realms Player’s Guide are allowed. All other character backgrounds are not allowed unless otherwise made available through RPGA Rewards cards. This supersedes the information on the Player Resources table on page 2 of this document.

Seems pretty clear to me.

Always remember that rules in the campaign-specific part of the CCG trump anything in the "general" part of the CCG (pages 1-3).
