So I have this nifty Spellscarred creation card (The Larger than Life version, if I'm not mistaken). I was wondering what people here think of spellscars in general and if there's any worthwhile options for spellscarred powers (specifically for melee). Otherwise, the only other really good spellscarred power I can see is Gravity of Moment, just because of it's potential for Bloodmage nova abuse.

Thanks in Advance!

I'm playing a Spellscarred rogue at the moment, but more because I like the flavour than anything else. On the whole, Spellscar powers tend to be interesting and different but not particularly powerful. I'd only play a spellscar character if you are looking for something unique. For example, mine doesn't even have any spellscar feats or powers, not even the basic one. Just the spellscar from the card.

That Spellscar has not been released on a card. Only Larger Than Life, Sight of the Unseen, and Flamespeed have been released.

Perhaps in the future that one might be released. Tel ppretty much hit the nail on the head. The Spellscar powers aren't any more powerful than your regular powers. If you don't like any of the powers at a particular level the it may be an opportunity to take some flavorful from the spellscar powers.

So wait, even though I have access to the spellscar features through my Larger than Life card, i can't do the spellscar MC to grab GoM through powerswap feats?

He's mistaken.

You need the cards to unlock the MC feat, but you can take any power once you do. The reward cards specifically allow this (it's written on the cards!).

I like Call of the Plague (encounter 3) for a swordmage. It's basically an arcane version of the fighter's Come and Get It (encounter 7). Except it's burst 5.

My mistake. I was thinking Gravity of Moment as a Spellscar feature, not a power. My bad. Yes, you can do power swap feats to take Spellscar powers once you've taken Student of the Plague.

I have a spellscarred warlock and am finding Call of the Plague + Action Point + Otherwind Stride to be very powerful. I ended an encounter in one round by winning initiative and doing this, which grouped all the enemies together immobilized. The party wizard then dropped Icy Terrain and Stinking Cloud on them. The rest of the party just needed to mop up.

You should invest in the Arcane Implement Proficiency Feat and choose an orb as an additional implement option. Then you can buy cheap level 2 Orbs of Inevitable Continuance...make that immobilize last for a couple of rounds, or the invisibility from Mire the Mind...or any number of nifty warlock powers.
