| #1ziptie_dupDec 22, 2008 0:29:12 | My new LFR Character Varis Hartickil an elven Rogue from Waterdeep. For some life is easy for others life can be a nightmare. For myself however I floated in between the two from day to day. Slowly I drifted into a different sort of crowd. I saw the world in a new light saw how the powerful were often completely unworthy of that power. Stupid people vain and insipid never truly understanding anything. They were a waste and they needed to be taught a lesson. There was always someone in my way though always I failed to make any real progress. It felt like I was running and running but never getting anywhere. At every turn I was stopped and taken away again. I always managed to get out but they never seemed to understand why I was doing what I was doing. It wasn't for money or fame it was never for anything so petty. I was simply trying to help people and end the status quo but no one seemed to understand that I was trying to help everyone, and it seemed like it would never happen. Then I got my chance the thieves guild was going to give me entrance int their halls. As one of them, with their resources I would have a shot at truly being able to help the world. All I had to do was succeed in my next job. It was supposed t be easy a simple in and out job taking a few gems to help finance my efforts. I was so close so very close to my goal; however then the he showed up and stopped again. Even worse though she was there and she thought he had saved her. Why did he have to meet her then? Why was she even here? Why was she looking at him like that? I failed to take what I needed, I lost her to him, and I didn't make it into the guild all in one night and all because of him. The guild knew I had failed and now they demanded that I kill someone to join them. I saw him a few weeks later. She was with him also. I knew then who it was that needed to die. He fought harder than I thought he possibly could and he was stronger then me but I was faster. I had finally hurt him and we both knew it. In the end I held his head in my hand and my knife was at home in his heart. He tried to struggle as futile it was a tear running down his cheek. I held him close to me as I watched his eyes and spoke softly so only he could hear. “This appeared as a moral dilemma. At first it was weird, though I swore to eliminate the worst of the plague that devoured humanity. It's true I was vague on the how so how can it be you have shown me the light? It's a brand new day and the sun is high all the birds are singing that your gonna die, how I hesitated now I wonder why. I owe it all to you. Who showed me the light it's a brand new me I got no remorse now the waters rising but I know the course, how I hesitated now I wonder, why it's a brand new day.” I saw her as I dropped his body to the floor. She saw us, saw me as I dropped his body. I tried to stop her but she turned and ran away from me. She never saw the carriage and I'll never forget the sight of her crumpled body laying there on the cobblestone. He cost me everything even with his death I couldn't beat him. I knew I couldn't stay there anymore. It was time to leave and start anew somewhere else. After all it was a brand new day.
