| #1ornsjach_dupJun 05, 2008 7:43:51 | Ok I was playing an old video game favorite of mine (secret of mana) and well got hit with an idea of sorts. An elemental mage that uses air-electric, fire, water-ice and light, dark, mind, and, earth-acid easy right? well yes in theory, but my goal for her is to become more and more elemental spirit (favoring undine) like and less and less mortal as she grows (i.e. water breathing and maybe getting a undine-isk form. it be too easy to make it with out having limits so I’m going to make her LG legal. currently I’m looking at a grey elf wizard with maxed out int. I’m willing go half elf sorcerer if given a reason. I don’t see her with a familiar. And I’d like to keep her with full spell or near full spell progression and she needs to be able to cast from all the elements ( I don't want to lock her into one type of spell energy), other than that is pretty much open. I look forward to seeing what everyone can come up with. if u dont think all that is possable then cut out the dark light and mind spells. Id be sad to see them go but where I am combat and utility are in hgh demand. |

Id be sad to see them go but where I am combat and utility are in hgh demand. one of my cleric characters has undergone a VERY expensive ritual recently to become air subtype . . . .sunk into it more money than reasonable, but he is a cleric of phaulkon - so totally in character. now he can bolster himself for turning attempts . . . . my second cleric is a follower of obad-hai (air, fire domains) and was planned to get access to at least three of the elemental domains - unluckily the only access to a contemplative he found was for beory . . . . for a wizard type a summoner comes to mind, with metamagic school focus and rapid spell. another build would go with energy substitution and energy admixture. but that would be hard to reach in the few remaining months of LG. ciao martin m. |
| #3ornsjach_dupJun 05, 2008 8:32:03 | nice ideas hmm out them all i like the energy substitution and energy admixture one. hmm wonder if the reserve feets are open better check.. also wondering if theres a ritual to become a water type. summoning is a good idea may pic up some but I am out for more direct damage spells. if I specalize(most likely Evoc and would drop necro and most likely abjur i would be staying as far from my foes as i can or conj if there is no attack spells worth keeping it for)I could cast more spells a day |

| #5magebeastJun 07, 2008 1:28:20 | You could also look at Born of the Three Thunders out of Complete Arcane. You know what are really silly? Lightning subbed (potentially heightened) born of the three thunders sound bursts. |
| #6umiskatonicJun 07, 2008 6:47:51 | The game already has these. They're called druids. Seriously, you get a pile of great spells, like produce flame, flame strike and arc of lightning, usually before anyone else does. You can summon elementals. You can turn into an elemental. And the druid spell list is already short on necromancy and enchantment. Just avoid the few choices you do have, and you're all there. (PLUS, more skill points, better skills, better HP, and better BAB than a wizard) |

| #8umiskatonicJun 07, 2008 23:12:14 | Oh, I left it out on purpose. The OP requested an elemental mage, and animal companions don't feel very 'magey' to me. I suppose since you get one anyway, you could just let it get killed, and forget about requesting a new one. Or, take something that blends in, like a horse. "On shadowfax!" and all that. |
