#1 cheomesh Aug 28, 2009 20:58:50	It would seem that the miniatures thread in the "Useful Links" section has died.  This is my attempt to revive it, but with one small request. My campaign setting has a focus on hand to hand and the like.  Where can I find 25/28mm minis set up for HTH, but don't look like something from a Wuxia film? M.

#3 atanakar Aug 28, 2009 21:09:45	I use «Heroclix» minis. Lots of models available on eBay. Remove the dial base and glue them on regular 1" bases. Some Star Wars minis can be used also. Architectural figurines found at hobby stores come in different scales but they are expensive.

#8 AnimeSniper Sep 01, 2009 20:28:50	At K-mart, don't know if they still have them, they have in the toy aisle small sets of WW I & II era from what I saw metal figures and vehicles on a certain scale which would probably work...
#9 stplong1981 Sep 02, 2009 14:01:52	Necromunda figures from Games Workshop would work, as they are usually designed like street thugs. Some have guns, some have clubs, staffs, etc.  In the same vein, you could always use some of the Games Workshop Fantasy Battlegrounds minis, since its fantasy era content, its all melee weapons, and usually easy to trim the weapons away if you want bare hands.  Also, there are a lot of Assassin and independant characters in 40k that you can easily remove the weapons from and they'd look fine.
#10 ed_209a Sep 03, 2009 0:12:46	Word of warning from personal experience: 25mm/28mm/1:72 minis look really small compared to normal RPG minis. I got 80 of the suckers (cause they were cheap), and though they have lots of detail, they are just wee little babes compared to GW minis or most RPG minis.
