Looking to do a 28 days/weeks later campaign in rural upstate ny...

Anyone have any good info or storylines or "zombie" stats for this idea???

Any help or links etc would be really helpful...

Thanks

I'm not sure if this violates forum policy, but the Revised All Flesh Must Be Eaten Main Book had d20 modern conversions for All Flesh's excellent zombie builds, character drawbacks, new feats, etc.

Anytime I put zombies into my d20 games, this is my go-to book.

You could take regular zombies and remove the partial-action limitation, giving them normal movement and attack routines. Maybe up their strength and dexterity, as well.

these "zombies" are live people

pumped up str and dex for physical traits

how to handle infection? do they grapple then bite? what should i make the saving throw to resist infection?
any of this would be helpful...

I'm just going to be starting my first game using the D20 rules soon and I'm not super familier with the rules yet. All I can say is that what I remember from the movie is that the infection is pretty much 100 percent effective. Even a drop of blood in your mouth or eyes or into an open wound and you're up S creek without a paddle. I apologize if this is a spoiler, though chances are anyone reading this thread have seen the movie. Remember after the attack in Jim's parent's house, Selena didn't hesitate half a second to cut down Mark when it was apparent he was wounded by one. Frank got a drop of blood in his eye and pretty much turned instantly. Or within a few seconds anyway. Granted I haven't seen it in a few months but I don't remember any case of someone NOT getting infected after exposure.

Well long story short, (too late, right?) I'm not sure there should even be a chance of resisting it, except maybe for a REF save or something to avoid it in the first place? Of course it's really all up to the GM. There could be cases or people fighting off the effects off screen.

I would like to see what you come up with though, I'm running a zombie survival scenario soon and even though it's quite a bit different from the 28 days/weeks "zombies" I haven't decided yet how to handle infection.

Oh yeah, and grapple and bite sounds about right. That's pretty much what they seem to do in the movie. Charge/tackle/gnaw gnaw gnaw.... plooie

Look at me taking up all your space. It just occured to me though that in 28 Weeks there was a woman... that dude's wife, that somehow resisted it and didn't turn but was still a carrier? Something like that? Didn't she infect her husband with a kiss later on? I can't remember exactly what was going on there. I was a bit disappointed with that one and didn't pay as much attention.

@ Undead Jed: Yes, in #2 the wife infected her husband by kissing him.

@ the OP: I'd take a human, up their STR and DEX to crazy levels, and give them bite/claw stuff like the others have said. I'd also give them something where they can spit blood (10-15 feet), since some of them have done that in the movies.
