| #13p1t4phJan 15, 2009 14:32:23 | Hello there. I've seen various types of guns, armors and other devices used in d20 modern, and I begin to wonder; couldn't there be some company, fictional in nature, that supplies weapons and equipment to Division 7 specifically, while keeping a public front as a police and military equipment manufacturer in addition to creating civilian firearms and equipment for fans of the visual style? From that, I produced R&L Industries, a weapons and equipment company that would be a district of Division 7, a supplier of weapons and equipment, and one of their methods of affording their activities in additional to covert ownership of stocks, unrelated companies and private funding from whatever other forms. I now, inside an spoiler block, present to you what I came up with in the span of half an hour being bored enough to actually try making this. Show R&L Industries offers the following firearms to its buyers. Many of these weapons are similar or identical to other weapons listed in the d20 Modern handbook. All of R&L Industries’ weapons that have selective fire (S/A) come with a 3-round burst option. All R&L Industries’ weapons can be purchased in a master craft version with an added +2 to the Purchase DC of the weapon. PT1, PT2, AT1, ST1 = DC 5 (50) PT3, AT2, ST2, RT1 = DC 6 (20) AT3, RT2 = DC 7 (10) R&L Industries also offers various other weapons, which are identical to those found in the d20 Modern handbook. They following items are listed below. An exception is the Garrote, detailed after the d20-identical items. C4/Detonator Fragmentation Grenade Smoke Grenade White Phosphorous Grenade Knife Metal Baton Tonfa Longsword Machete Garrote (Exotic) ( 1d6 - 20 - Slashing - Tiny - 1 lb. - DC 12 ) The Garrote is a long, thin knife with a slight curve and the blade on the inside of the curve. It is a useful fighting tool, but also designed with the intention of being used to slash the throat of an unaware opponent from behind. The user of a Garrote can sneak up on an opponent, and if they attack while unnoticed deal an extra damage die if the attack succeeds. A master craft Garrote deals yet another extra die of damage when used this way instead of granting a +1 to attack rolls. R&L Industries’ also provides a wide selection of protective gear. These items can be purchased like weapons with a master craft +4 DC cost, in order to increase the equipment bonus by 1 and decrease the armor penalty by 1. Unless specified, these items are identical to their counterparts in the d20 Modern handbook. Leather Jacket ( This armor consists of a sturdy leather jacket with sturdy leather plates over the shoulders and the outer forearms. It also comes with sturdy leather elbow and knee guards, gloves and boots. If worn with a light undercover shirt, pull-up pouch vest, or undercover vest, their Equipment Bonuses stack. This armor is commonly used by civilians as hunting and sport armor as well as impromptu combat armor if needed. ) Light Undercover Shirt Undercover Vest Concealable Vest Light-Duty Vest Tactical Vest Special Response Vest R&L Industries, in addition to weapons and armor, is also proud to supply non-combat gear to buyers. Any item found in the following sections of the General Equipment lists found in the d20 Modern handbook can be purchased from R&L complete with R&L’s signature logo and design scheme. | #3backstabbistJan 15, 2009 17:16:26 | This may seem like a list of problems but your list aint too bad overall 2d10 Revolver should be Large to require 2hand, but give it +2 conceal etc for size Heavy Revolver should be Lic+1, the resytriction is on .5" diameter, not megamag power 2d10 AssaultRifle is M14/G3, but yeah... assault is 2d8, MainBattleRifle is 2d10 ... was gonna say something about 2d6 Micromachinpistol, but it is ok on second look "Heavy Machinegun" is standard nomenclature for 50BMG class guns, not 2d10 (GPmg / MMG) What is the role of a Tactical Fire Rifle ? It is Res+2.... is it Silenced? anyhoo guns look like a good setup, just a few tweaks and you are in business |
| #4TheRealOrionJan 15, 2009 17:29:03 | I did something like this a few months ago and tried to slide it by the eyes of the local "firearms enthusiasts." Here's a link to the thread, and a link to the file. Not trying to steal your thunder! Just thought you might find it useful for your own list. |
| #53p1t4phJan 15, 2009 18:52:58 | Thanks for the info, guys. I know I'm not the best at statting realistically; I'll never in my life claim I can when it comes to guns. The Tactical Rifle was basically intended as a high powered rifle that could be used for more than just a sniping weapon. It was largely based on taking Fallout 3's Hunting Rifle and making it a box-loaded weapon. Perhaps some modification to enhance its ability as a long range fighting arm or a drop to Licensed [+1] is needed. The Carbine was, as stated, based on the G3. The revolver was a high-power .50 revolver with a shrouded barrel. Additionally I liked the idea of making the Revolver a two-handed handgun with a +2 conceal bonus and will change it to that. And thank you Orion, I'll take a look at it. |
