| #1juzzmanOct 03, 2009 20:28:29 | Hi,
So far i cant see any way for acolytes to make potions, only mages. It would seem odd and unlikely that someone would become both a mage and acolyte just to make healing potions. There doesnt seem to be a brew potion feat for acolytes, and i guess i can just add one, but i wanted to make sure
Thanks for the feedback

| #3Master_VegaOct 04, 2009 18:58:33 | Brew Potion So, by RAW a Mage/Acolyte can brew Cure Light Wounds potions since he will know CLW... but then you have to qualify for both classes and invest levels into both. Not exactly an optimal (or even practical) build. Ask your GM (if you're not the GM) if you could take Brew Potion as a feat; I think that's reasonable. EDIT: Is anyone else seeing my post mirroring within itself? I swear the text is only written here once, but it's showing up twice on my screen. |

If you want healing potions in your game, you could make the "Brew Potion" feat available to anyone who can cast a spell (of any kind). But that's if and only if you want Healing Potions in your game world! If you let them in, then you might find that the d20M damage rules don't quite work as smoothly. The game is designed with the presumption that such things don't exist. You might find that importing D&D rules is necessay. Vega: Yes, I'm seeing your message twice. Three cheers for the new forum. |
| #5juzzmanOct 09, 2009 18:16:07 | Thanks for the replies; I am the gm, and i just wanted to check my facts before i definately said no to acolytes making potions without levels in mage. I'm still going to throw in a few as treasure to taunt them but if they want to make their own someone is going to have to multiclass. The group has an acolyte medic already and arent having major issues so far so all is good.

So might as well lol If you were to take Apothecary as an Occupation then you have the option of taking "arcane skills" as an initial feat. Which means you get the ability to "brew potions" granted you have to be able to cast spells. BUUUUT that means if you take spells in Acolytle you could then brew healing potions or any other as well. Domw3rd |
