I'm planning on running a CoC game in the future. I have the adventure all planned out, now all I need is fun beasties to populate it with.

The adventure is taking place inside a yithian mind, so if anyone has stats for flying polyps, mi-go, or other things that a yithian would remember, that would be great.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: ....

I just mispelled the name of the great old one. I hope he doesn't eat me.

There's a d20 version of CoC out there. Not easy to find, but it is out there.

Right. I was aware of that, however, I want to test the waters playerwise, see if they enjoy it, then perhaps I'll buy the full RPG. Have you played it? do you have any tips from that game?

I use it as a supplement to d20 Modern as the beasties and such are fully compatible (and it helps to prevent my players from knowing what's going on).

It is a pretty good d20 system, with advice on several game types and eras, a fairly good-sized list of montsers, great old ones, and npc's from the stories.

The most interesting part is the lack of classes. Characters either choose skills or a preset template of skills to represent their chosen profession.

For anyone interested in the Mythos or horror campaigns, I recommend it.

There are sort of classes that is your either offensive (worse saves, better attacks) or defensive (better saves, worse attacks). Some things in it I really like such as the ability scores having a little descrtor attached e.g. str 4 = the strength of a child, strength 12 = a fit person or strength 16 = a horse (not accurate conversions here I'm just giving vague memory examples so don't correct me on it). I like knowing roughly where different people/things would full on the scale rather than just a generic 10/11 = +0 and the average scores in the creatures description. This one lets me see at a glance where a fit person would be on the scale as opposed to a strong person or how high an int would reflect a genius.

On the other hand some things introduced for game balance/flavour do make me look askance such as the psychic powers which come with an attached sanity cost. I can understand why the designers did that but it left me with the image of a person driving themselves mad by use of their telekinetic powers to fetch the chips out of the cupboard.
