| #1degausserJan 29, 2009 9:54:07 | Just a random thought that popped into my head, I was wondering of some people here would like to write down any sucessfull or semi-sucsessfull D20 modern/past/future campaigns they had run, in brief, so that we might share the ideas around. I'll post my only two successful campaigns (neither of which finished, unfortunatly). My d20 Shadow Chasers/Urban Arcana game Characters: Frank Ex Military tough/bodyguard, Zeak Ex military strong/Soldier, Zebadiah Priestly Smart/Mage Memorable NPCs, Squee, the team's 'pet' Kobold with 17 Int, Smart 1 Campaign In brief:Frank is sent on an undercover mission to meet up with the AWOL Zeak, which happens to be next to Zebadiah's church. At the same time a member of Zeb's congrigation meets up with him and asks him to take a look at a strange book (knowing that Zeb is trained in deciphering ancient languages.) The area is attacked by hoodlums, and all 3 PCs are shocked when the shadow retreats and they are quite litterally facing demons (Kobolds). They managed to fight off the Kobolds, but in the process one steals the book and (not according to my plans) they capture one and ask it for information. This Kobold latter becomes Squee, their technical support. -The campaign followed the team as they discover the nature of the shadow, the defunct agency (now run independent of the government) called Department 7, and the awsome power of the book. The book details a theory for world domination that could (theoretically) never come to fruition as it would require magic, mass communication, and the public not being aware of magic. A greedy Djinn learned about this book, realized Earth was ripe for the picking, and set about steaing it from an alternate prime material plane. -In the interum, the PCs had to deal with a crazed martial artist who contracted out for the government, the government itself, and even had to travel to Sigil in order to get the book back. In the last session, they recovered a book in Carceri, from the hands of the Djinn's planar hit squad. Unfortunatly, the campaign endded early before they could face off against the Djinn. D20 Future Campaign Characters: Rex (Female Tough/Soldier Merc), Handsome Gary (Male Charasmatic/Swindler con artist) Jane (Female Fast/Gunslinger/Tracer hunter), Ben (Male Smart/Techie junk repairman) Campaign in brief: No intersteller travel, but the year is around 2070. All characters wake up in the slums with strange clothes, no idea where they are, and can't remember the past several weeks. They are immidiatly acossted by thugs (whom they readily defeat) and quickly find menial work as the try to figure out what went wrong. Jane, whose family is rich, desides to take the group to the local hospital with her in order to figure out what happened, is troubled to learn that she has been declaired dead, and minutes later a Privite Military company shows up with assault rifles to kill them. -It turns out they were all illegaly abducted, set up by people that hated them, and sent to a new company researching nanotechnology. The idea was to make super-cyborgs that looked just like normal humans, but the end result ws always death (Too many nanites gummed up the human body.) They were part of the latest batch that appeared to fail, but the nanites managed to stabalize and revive the PCs, after their bodies were dumped in the slums. Now, the nanites are killing them but also repairing the damage just as fast, leaving them to wonder how to proceed. Campaign ended (I had to move) before they could face the big bad corperation. |
