Sorry if this has been asked but what ammunition do the Charge Pistols and Charge Rifles use? I can't find it anywhere...

Gyro Jets are basically little rockets used as kinetic penetrators with no warhead about the size of bullets. Originally made in like the .50 cal or 12.7 mm range years ago. So just a bullet with a small rocket engine slapped onto the back.

Charge pistols/rifles use bullets that instead of using normal powder/chemicals use an electrochemical that uses an electrical charge or pulse to ignite the propellant instead of kinetic force from a hammer in weapons we use today, which makes for less mechanical moving parts in a weapon and in theory makes them a bit lighter.

I guess I should rephrase my question as which caliber to they use? None is specified for the weapon and my GM wants to know.

They don't list any caliber. One can assume that the charge pistol and rifle are probably of smaller than larger calibers available but with the "improved" propellants allows for greater damage and range. Since most pistol calibers do 2d6 but the charge does 2d8, we could assume charge pistol is smaller than 9mm due to the large ammo capacity (not many pistols have 30 round mags and still only weigh 2 lbs) and have have a "considerable higher muzzle velocity" for more power and range. So we could assume the pistol is probably between 5.7 and 9mm and the rifle probably around the 5.56mm range.

I think the ammo capacity is a bit large and is a typo unless it uses really small like a .223.

As for the gyrojet.. it's damage is really low, including the rifle. Only 2d6? Has got to be a typo. I don't remember seeing an errate for Future Tech to correct that.
So.. gyrojet calibers could be around the same as mainstream pistols and rifles of today, or smaller, or bigger.. unfortuately, as RAW, they suck horribly. The charge pistol/rifle is far better.. Hell the mini-rocket launcher has better range and damage *cough*possible 10d6 ignore 10 hardness or whatever a LAW does in a round about the size of a sharpy marker*cough*

So.. In conclusion.. Use whatever caliber makes sense to you guys. I'd go with the smaller/average of whatever we use today, which will allow for the die size increase for the charge weapons, although they have far larger mags than they probably should.
As for the gyrojets.. Don't use them as RAW.. could use the TEMAjet versions that backstabbist has up around somewhere.. I think they're at least linked in the 101 Future Weapons thread.
