OK. So I need some help...

I'm wondering if anyone here can help me out with creating a gimmick-y character. Also, It's probably a good idea to tell you that I'm playing in a D20 Future campaign that is set 400 years in the future. We are PL 7 by then apparently :D

SO the character: You know, one that is hilariously fun to play as, has some crazy drawback(s) but is still maybe really good at some things (or just ONE thing, lol)? Maybe he could have some crazy drawbacks like substance abuse or something really off the wall random like that. (Also, while your at it, maybe throw in some Prestige class suggestions?)

I really just need some ideas to spark my thought processes. This is a pretty lose game I'm playing in so I kinda want to make a "fun" character. Even try and think of characters that may seem like they'd be terrible to play and might end up on a list of things like: Worst character Concepts you as a Gm have ever seen
I would be willing to even play one of those! lol

Thanks in advance for the help guys!

Not sure I could suggest much, but maybe you can draw some inspiration from Paranoia? It's pretty futuristic, with nutty characters.

A character I wanted to play was an autistic savant (dump Cha, and perhaps Wis - unless you're going to take dedicated levels -, and boost the crap out of Int) who improved the other characters' equipment while they were not paying attention to it (use feats/talents to boost crafting).

Be sure to do this in a GM sidebar for extra effect (so long as your group doesn't take offense to that kinda thing). Don't even tell them that their weapons have been improved - maybe it doesn't occur to you to tell them that you altered their tools/weapons. Just let them make wisdom checks to realize something is different about them.

Maybe after you get caught and yelled at for messing with people's stuff, take the Techie advanced class and start building a robot army. Use said army in bizarre, or at least unexpected ways to help allies

It's fun, useful, and different.

Use d20 Future, max out your wealth bonus with feats and occupations, use the broken as hell gadget system to shrink down starship and mecha weapons to integrate into your suit of armor that uses every gadget in the book.

Name yourself Rico.

Great ideas so far guys..... only one problem. :\

I was throwing character ideas at my GM and he got REALLY angry with me when he realized I was trying to make a goofy character.... apparently he is taking this campaign much more seriously than I had originally thought.

Sooo that means we'll just have to come up with the idea of a character that seems normal to the naked eye, but actually is hilariously quirky.

So far narukagami's idea fits well into this category (as I like showing my GM that playing D20 with NO house rules is dumb, because I can break the game... and I will try and do so, lol)

Any more ideas?

Thanks again!

Goofy characters made WWF billions of dollars.
HonkyTonk Man? Junkyard Dog? Million$Man? The Austrailian guys?
Goofy sells.
The hero rides in with.... the plaid shirt sidekick.
What made Oceans11 cool? Banter.
What would ResiviorDogs be without Mr Pink?

Come on, who wants a Rational Scientist on the team,
when you could roll up a Mad Scientist
