Has anyone built one of these, using the d20 Modern or d20 Future?

What would it look like?

It gives a temporary (but significant) boost to strength, running speed, armor, and invisibility. How would you go about building it?

The d20 Mecha system is a superior system.

DARPA Nanosuit

Defense: 14 [MP: 20]
Strength: +6 [MP: 18]
Speed Multiplier: Land x 1.5 [MP: 24]
Maneuver: +2 [MP: 10]
Initiative: +0

Accessories: Electromagnetic Armor [16], GPS Navigation [2], Invisibility [150], Jumping (x4)[4], Laser Designator (1 mi.)[4], Life Support[4], Optics (Low-Light, 1 mi.)[3], Secure Microwave Com.[4].

Yea, I agree with NCLanceman (who introduced my to d20Mecha SRD), it's a better item-building-system.
But what we really need is a suit that can only have increased speed, extra strength, invisibility, OR armour at the same time.
...and with an energy bar.

Isn't that feasible with the "transformation" quality of d20 Mecha SRD? We can just separate the Invis/Strength/Armour/Speed and distribute them on various suits, give the primary one the Transformation Qual., and then add the others, for a lower cost.

Also, Speed might want to have the Boosters quality...

It can, but part of that quality is the full round action for the transformation, and after a while of playing that game, transforming was pretty much a free action.... that, and I didn't think of that .

I don't think it really needs the boosters though, a full out run at 45 ft. per round is really, really fast, and the natural penalties for moving that fast end sprinting soon enough.

Actually, I think you've hit the nail on the head, NCLanceman. It looks good.

If you don't mind, I may steal this...

Ah, didn't know about the full-round action. I'd still say that not all abilities could be active at one time, so if you're using it, just specify what is active at what time.
...but that might just be me having spent a lot of time playing it and fine-tuning when to use what ability. :D

Logically said, If all functions were running at the same time that you would deplete the power source much quicker... look at a laptop when you run multi-programs without it being plugged in... and the energy bar is a good idea with a possible recharge time... maybe have a set dice to be rolled for each function representing power drain at the acquisition of the suite...those rolls represent the drain percentile each round the function is active.

Yea, I guess perhaps the suit in the game COULD use all functions at the same time, but the designers decided to cap it to 1 function at a time, because the operator risked depleting the energy to quickly.

I'd say, give it a % energy bar. Each round of sprinting takes 10%, each superpunch or superjump takes 15%, each point of damage takes an amount of % equal to the damage, each round of stationary invisibility costs 5%, and each round of moving invis costs 20%.

That'd be the easiest in my opinion. (you might want to tweak the energy use percentage, but you get the idea)...

I love the d20 Mecha system, there is literally nothing you can't do with it :D

An easy way to handle to the power situation would be to just give it a pool of Energy Points or some such and assign a cost to each ability. Like what Tema suggested, but without the percentages. :P

Percentages tend to hurt the brain when you get into the .00000731% drain!:D

Point based systems do have some benefits.

I hope you noticed that I used big drain numbers. Not .0000731%. So whether you say it used 10% or 3/30 Energy Points, I guess it doesn't really matter, does it?
Anyway, energy points or percentage, you got my point. :D

Edit I understand really, and I was making a jest at certain homebrew rules that use percentiles... and I was also merely refering how with advances in tech base the functions eventually would hardly make a drain on the power... think of the Halo Spartan armor each following model got better

Easy: assuming the the Mk1 suit has 100 Power Source Units (PSU), draining what I wrote above per use, the Mk2 could have 150, the Mk3 200, etc...
