In D&D, all weapons and armor can be made of other materials other than the standrd: Mythral, Adamantine, ect.  However, I have not seen anything comparable in the d20 Modern or the d20 Future books.  I was wandering if there ever were special materials for the d20 Modern universe?  If not, can any one suggest any, including stats?  Thanks.

if you can get copies of Factory & Arsenal since one of those had the aformentioned materials listed in X-HP per inch of material.

I have the books but not with me at the moment so give me a day I could tell you which has the exact info

Define "Special" materials.

I would figure that if a material is 3x as strong as steel for 80% the weight,
that would be some pretty special stuff to make bodyarmor out of.

Lets review the idea here:
"Better" stuff is special, and you can make special things out of special stuff.
Whether the material is a better Rare material, of a newly manufactured better material,
all you need is the data for the material

hmmm, we can find that in the good old Bullet Points.

As an example, we can look at the way I demonstrated this for Vanadium BreastPlate:
We can have it thin with protection as good as steel at a fraction of the weight,
or we can have it the same weight and encumberance as steel but 3x the protection.

I cant find the "Futuristic Materials" thread here anymore,
but I copied the important part to BG

"Special Materials" as in materials other than steel that weapons and armor can be made out of.  I looked at, and printed, that Bullet Points article.  However, it does not give an relevant information on how to allpy those materials to weapons and armor.  I am still looking at the other site you mentioned.  Thanks for the info though.

I would go at this the other way, myself. Stat up a bunch of bonuses/penalties (with prices attached) and then let players call them anything they like.

e.g., "My armour has x10 Hardness but the same weight. I'm calling it 'vibranium.'"

Done and done.
