#1 clockworkrevenge Nov 11, 2008 14:56:48	I cant discuss details for OGL reasons, but i was wondering, how fair would it be to allow a PC with the inventor class to rebuild an invention, paying the cost as normal. In general, im just wondering how fair this class is. Has anyone play tested it?

Well, if you are the GM, allowing a PC to re-invent, rebuild, re-create an artifact is okay...provided you, as the GM, want the PC to have the artifact again. And then do things like ... -- increase the materials cost, because they're even harder to find and certainly take longer to gather. (The PC was lucky to find the materials the first time around!) -- increase the number of success rolls needed for each stage of the "reconstruction" process. or -- increase the DCs (PC more apt to over-think, miss-remember) This also would be an opportunity to adjust the "power" of the invention so it wouldn't over-balance your campaign. "For some unknown reason, it just don't work as well as last time." ...if you are the GM...
