| #1battles14Mar 27, 2008 7:44:57 | I'm guessing that this question has been answered before, but the search function on these forums is horrible. I just got Dark*Matter, and there are some things that don't seem to fit with the rest of the books. The most obvious is Department-7. I'm guessing that it's supposed to be that Department-7, but its description is drastically different than the writeup that's presented in Urban Arcana. So, is it the same entity? Please let me know if anyone has a definitive answer on this. |

It overrides any information about Department-7 from different books, as it is adapting the organization to the tone of Dark*Matter. |

They are defined and function differently depending on the flavor of the setting. Obviously [smallcaps]Urban Arcana[/smallcaps] and [smallcaps]Dark*Matter[/smallcaps] are two different settings, despite the fact they're using our real world as their stage. So, if you're going to run a [smallcaps]Dark*Matter[/smallcaps] game, best to use its version of Department-7 of the Hoffman Institute. |
