| #3GiradiusJul 22, 2008 21:31:03 | I started a Dr Who D20 thread about 8 months ago but it died from lack of interest. I posted a gallifreyan and a Dalek, and have still been giving it thought, if people are interested I am happy to contribute, I am a bit a Whovian! New Race: Gallifreyan The Dominant race of the planet Gallifrey in the galaxy Kasterberous, Gallifreyans were one of the first sentient humanoid races in the universe and have created one of the most powerful civilizations that ever existed. The people of Gallifrey had mastered the most complex of sciences while many races still sheltered from predators in caves, they are renowned across the universe as scientists and intellectuals. The society of Gallifrey is Hierarchal and is ruled by the lord President and a high counsel of the Timelords, beneath this counsel is the Cardinals of the various orders of Timelords (such as the Prydonian order). Racial Traits +4 Intelligence +2 Wisdom +2 Constitution: Gallifreyans have keen intellects and observant natures and even Gallifreyans that are not Timelords are quite hardy and robust. Medium size Base Land speed 30ft Dual Circularity system: Gallifreyans have 2 hearts which allows them a second roll to stabilise, in addition to this their highly efficient circulatory system distributes oxygen and adrenaline faster giving them a +1 bonus to initiative rolls and +4 to Fortitude saves against fatigue and exhaustion. Respiratory bypass system: The respiratory system of Gallifreyans is highly advanced, Gallifreyans can effectively close of their respiratory system preventing gas based toxins from affecting them, they also require a third of the oxygen a Human does and can hold their breath for their Constitution x 2 Minutes Level adjustment +2 A Timelord prestige class is next on the list... New race: Dalek Created on the planet Skaro by the Kaled scientist Davros as engines of war and the ultimate form of the Kaled race. The Daleks are utterly ruthless, xenophobic, genocidal creatures that are bent on dominating the universe and exterminating all life that is not Dalek. Possessing no benign emotions as their creator Davros saw them as weaknesses and removed them, Daleks are incapable of feeling any emotion other than hate. Possessing incredible and ruthless intelegence the Daleks command powerful and destructive technology and even a single dalek is a force to be reckoned with. The main weaknesses of the Dalek is that they are too logical and are over realiant on their computers and technology; due to their narrow mindset they have lost the powers of intuition and inspiration. They also tend to enslave other species to perform functions that they cannot and to provide slave labour to exploit mineral resources, especially in dangerous environments. Racial Traits Aberration : The Dalek is a stable mutant species that has been genetically engineered and lives only to kill. The Dalek is a small blob like creature with a number of tentacle like appendages (often between 4 and 6) ranging from grey to pale green in colour, a large bulbous eye dominates the 'face' and a secondary atrophied eye is sometimes present, it possess a small toothless lamprey like mouth on its underside and is incapable of making making any sound other than a gargling growl or a squeek. +4 Intelligence, -2 Dexterity -4 Charisma: The Dalek has a Highly developed Intellect but is also devoid of personality, it lives to follow orders, its body is atrophied and underdeveloped and is dependant upon Mechanical aid for mobility and life support. Tiny : As a tiny creature the Dalek gains +2 to touch AC, it also has these ability modifiers -8 Strength , +4 Dexterity , -2 Constitution, additionally Tiny creatures have a reach of zero meaning they have to enter the targets square to attack. Base land speed is 5 ft Immunity: Radiation, Daleks suffer no ill effects from radiation Damage Resistance: Acid 10 +4 Fortitude save against poisons : Given a Daleks artificial origins they are highly resistant to harmfull chemical agents. Daleks receive a +4 Racial bonus to Computer use , Knowledge (technology/Mathematics) and Repair checks. Fanatical: Owing to the Daleks fanatical mindset, they gain a +5 bonus to all Will saves made against fear, Terror, madness, or psionic effects. Machine control conditioning: The Dalek is conditioned and trained since birth to function within a mechanical Shell which provides the Creatures mutated and feeble body life support and mobility as well as range of weopons and tools. Davros devised this period of conditioning and training as he reasoned that this would give his creations extraordinary flexibility as they would almost literally be able to change body like someone changes a suit. The control of Dalek mechanical armour is ingrained in the creature that it never needs to make a pilot check to control one, also a Dalek is able to enter and 'pilot' any Dalek machine, battle armour, and remain inside indefinatley provided it contains a Dalek life-support system and control module. Vulnerable: A Dalek out of its machine is very vulnerable to harm, and without a life-support system a Dalek is considered Shaken and must make a Fortitude save DC 15 every hour (increasing by 1 every hour to a max of 20) if this save fails the Dalek becomes Dormant and inert (Unconscious but stable) however it must still make saves every hour (DC 15) and if this fails the Dalek is Dying, however most Daleks can survive a couple of hours out of their machines. Once Dormant a Dalek cannot become conscious again until replaced in a life support unit where it can make a Fort save every hour to become conscious again, however a Dalek who has suffered in this way will remain Shaken until it passes a Fortitude save DC 15 every 10 minutes. LA ? Not sure about the level adjustment however a creature on its own is not particularly tough, but one that is encased in battle armour is. The dalek machines come in many different models based on what is required (Science, technical, infantry, scouting, heavy weopons etc), and these are considered to be robots but there is no CPU or programming merely the dalek life-support and control module, therefore it can be built with any number of non mental robot features.(the onboard battlecomputers and targeting system means that the Dalek replaces Dex with Int when making ranged attacks) they can have a range of mounted weoponry and sensor equipment, as well as cybernetic upgrades. What do you think? I will post some dalek battle armour soon. |
