I have the Core D20 Modern with me, I don't really see much stuff for a Explosive and Demolitions Expert. (note: read it thru in 4 hrs, so i may b wrong on some stuff)

Character Concept:
Guy who plants bombs, shoots bombs(RPGs, Gernade launchers), throws bombs (gernades, FBs) and all that as opposed to bullets unless totally necessary. Starting Level 5, Terminator Setting.

Is there a demolition class of sorts?

Any base class without the Demolition skill could take an occupation that grants it. Then build up and go for Soldier, grab Weapon Focus (RPG, M79, Frag Grenade, or whatever).

like that one stalone movie right? What never made sense to me regarding that is opposition to gun. Hello! what is a gun? It is a very controlled explosion with a single controlled peice of shrapnel. (especailly for a guy who is all right with using an RPG)

You could simply create a strong type hero whose weapon focus is a grenade launcher, but I think your concept would work more smoothly if your Explosives and Demolitions expert wasn't interested in shooting bombs or throwing bombs, but simply dwell on planting, arming, disarming, and detecting bombs, developing new bombs and bomb components, be it new explosives or new detonators or whatever. That isn't so much a class as where you spend your skill points. Your DM is probably going to have to work with you to create new feats and the like

This sounds like the description to one of my old characters back when I used to play Villians & Vigilantes.

He was an ex-baseball pitcher turned superhero.
He was called: The Grenadier.
He ran around loaded to the nines with all kinds of grenades and could throw them far and accurate.

Playing him was a blast! (Pun Intended).

Smart Hero's Savant - (Craft: Chemical) and (Demolitions) are excellent. Ditto on (Craft: Electronic) if you're going to want to build electronic detonators.

You'll also want to look up the Quick Chemist feat from Menace Manual.

Snag Evasion somehow.

Currently, im looking at starting with Tough4/Fast1.
To play with rpgs and Gernade launchers, i need 2 feats, the advance firearm and exotic(Rocket Launcher). If i was to go Smart1/Tough3/Fast1, I would b having only 3 feats, Cautious and those 2.

And thoughts on this? And i dont have menace manua, looking around 2 find it.

Why would you need Advanced Firearms Proficiency (let alone Personal Firearms Proficiency) to be able to launch grenades or fire rockets. PFP applies to "point the weapon at the target and fire", AFP applies to "spray and pray", and Exotic Firearms Proficiency (Grenade Launchers) applies to "I know how to lob grenades via my GL". In our campaigns, we have one kind of Exotic stuff. The feat is like in DnD: Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Rocket Launchers, Machineguns, Katanas, or whatever), and the Prerequesites are BAB+1. Of course, to be a good Machinegunner, you're going to wanna pick up PFP and AFP. But not as a good grenadier. My 2cents anyway.

Remember that Exotic Firearms Proficiency (Rocket Launchers) isn't the same thing as Exotic Firearms Proficiency (Grenade Launchers). Do you have the stats for the RPG7 from the Modern Web Enhancement?

you would be far better off making your own bomb/grenade than using off the rack stuff.

  • 2lb block charges as 6d6 grenades (cigar & fuse)
  • Augment m67 with 1lb as 8d8 grenade (sympathetic detonation)
  • Personal KneeMortar with DotFinder rounds, have the guy with +35BAB paint the target 20-300m away (2round action)
  • Bouncer RubberballCharges 2d6 to 6d6
  • Techie BombBuggy-Bot
  • Candygram for Mongo bombs
  • Phonebombs (desktop mechanical), TV bombs (10-20lb of bang), prisoner bombs (that one never gets old)
  • MultiBomblet Lobber 20x60' 4d6

Smart5, you also end up with a bunch of skills to help the party. Dont worry about BAB, you are an AreaAttack guy workin on Def10 gridsquares

Don't mind him, he is always like that. Unless he is talking about armor. Hey 'stabbist? Iowa.

I think he is saying to make your own explosives with the demolitions skill, making 6d6 thrown explosives, augmenting a hand grenade with one pound of c4/semtex for 8d8, using mortars, though I don't know what he means by dot-finder, sounds like a lock-on mortar, I don't know if that exists though.

Bouncer rubberball sounds like getting a basketball or something and packing it with explosives, bouncing it along and then blowing it up.

Techie bombuggy sounds like he is saying a remote control little robot packed with a few bricks of C4.

Candygram for mongo is referencing Blazing Saddles, a guy hides a bomb inside a candygram, would also work with a bottle of booze, or hypothetically a wallet, though you couldn't pack much in to a wallet.

Phonebombs would be replacing a phone with a shell of a phone with explosives in, TV bomb is the same, but a TV instead of a phone. For extra fun, rig the bomb to blow when it is turned on, rather than doing it yourself.

Prisonerbomb would be planting explosives on a prisoner, and detonating it when he gets back to his group. Yeah, 'stabbist is a bit off like that.

Not sure where he is getting the multi-bomblet lobber from.

Dont mind me, I'm always like that. Speaking of armor, Have I told you guys about the Iowa Battleship yet? Grab a chair (& a snack, & sleeping bag... I tend to go on & on) ;)

The Multi Lobber fires 3 grenades, (Center, 10' left & 10' right) for larget area

I used to have Razoreface to translate Nerdlinger 2 English for my posts,
thanx for taking over the translating Nodaisho

Yeah, 'stabbist is a bit off like that

Crikey, I make a few Morally Questionable toys (like the Anti-Medic cannonshells & the McDagger MartyrMaker) and all of a sudden I'm a bit off.
...ok, maybe not sudden, but you get the idea.
What can I say, not all my train cars have floors.

Check the Bunker, the d20 Future forum "Coreline Bunker" thread,
a lot of guys posted a lot of good toys in there... but it is kinda all encompasing, so you gotta read thru a lot of stuff to get the gems. I tried to put an Index on page6 iir
