Hello all. I'm not new to the game, or to d20, but I am new to this area of the boards.

I have a question, one that's probably been answered many, many times and I just haven't found it. My apologies.

On page 271 of the MCR, it says that Ordinary characters gain none of the class features (talents or bonus feats) of the basic class they belong to. When looking at the example Ordinary characters in the following pages (pp.272-283), nearly all of them have more feats than they "should." If going by the feats gained on Table 1-2 (page 18) as their only "earned" feats, then nearly all teh sample characters have too many feats. For example, the "Low-Level Private Eye" (Tough Ordinary 1/Dedicated Ordinary 1 - page 280) has four feats (Attentive, Brawl, PFP, and SWP). However, in my mind, I can only justify three of those feats - two for being a 1st level character, and one from the Investigative occupation.

Is there something I'm missing (I'm sure there is :P)

isn't Simple Weapon Profiency given to all characters by default? So in the given example, thats two feats for being 1st level, 1 occupation feat, and Simple Weapons Profiency.

Okay, that's solved. I should've been able to see the common thread (SWP) and been able to connect-the-dots. Thanks for pointing that out!
