May 26, 2008 16:46:54 I can't seem to find the old firearm combinations thread and was wondering if anyone would enjoy a new one being started.

May 27, 2008 2:04:49 once again, Ro here. i go for some classic style with my guns. usually stick with an Avtomat Kalishnikov Model 1947 with an underslung GL-25 grenade launcher and a CZ-75 (old style) for a backup.

May 27, 2008 11:24:36 Hmm... Having only fired a G3 and some small calibre rifles, I don't know much about the ease, comfort or anything about shooting - so I'm gonna go for style.
Primary: AKSU74 or Kriss Super Vector .45 cal.
Backup: Dual Colt M1911s
Note: ...and a lot of frags. :D

Shotgun: (with decent rules) 2x Browning BPS 10 gauges rigged up next to each other like a SxS
Pistols: 2x 1911A1s of some sort, with laser sights. (one serves as backup, or if the game made reloading take longer, shoot with one while reloading the second)

I am personally very fond of the shotgun, just the idea of a side-by-side pump action 10 gauge. And 3d12 damage averages out to 20.5 damage, that ought to cause a save on just about anything.

As a support/specialist weapon, an AA12 would be good too. I've just realized how close combat oriented by weapon loadout is, and therefore, I'd like to make up for that:
MultiRangeCapability Loadout:
Primary: M14 Battlerifle.
Backup: AA12.
Pistol: Dual M1911s.
Note: Lots of frags (yeahp, I'm overemphasizing fragmentation grenades).
If possible: AntiMedicBombs.

...did I mention frag grenades?

May 27, 2008 16:54:49 Sure, the AA12 has more firepower, but the theme is quality over quantity, and there is something about a pump action that you just don't get with a semi.

May 27, 2008 17:00:35 You mean Full Auto. The AA12 is fully automatic. And I agree - a pump action is a lot nicer, but who doesn't want to have a fully automatic shotgun that fires explosive rounds?
The AA12 would be used in CQC, where the M14 would be to unwieldy. The M1911s would purely be backup weapons.

May 29, 2008 0:30:03 Give me a good-quality AR15 carbine, my Wilson CQB 1911, my J-frame Smith snubby, my Walther P-22 and Gemtech suppressor, and my Remington 870 for close work. Problems solved.

I also have an Eagle/SKD Universal chest rig with four AR mags, three 1911 mags and a spare Sure-Fire flashlight, plus a CRKT Hissatu knife on the left MOLLE panels, over a IIIA soft vest. One of these days I'll have enough spare cash to buy a set of plates, probably steel level III plates or maybe some of the layered polyethelene/steel plates, since they tend to stop a wider range of projectiles. In my neck o' the woods, I just don't see the need for Level IV plates. The ceramic is too delicate, and who the hell is going to shoot at me with AP rounds?

I figure that's plenty of loadout for a civilian like myself. If I ever have to put all that crap on, it damn well better be a zombie invasion!
