The community Management team has created a new initiative to help the community express their feedback and suggestions regarding the forums. With the large number of forums we have we wanted to implement a way for users to get their feedback to the CM team in an effective manner. Community management believes that the best source of information about a community comes from the community itself, and this program is designed with that principle in mind.

Forum leads do not have any moderation powers whatsoever. They do, however, have a direct voice to the WotC Community Management team. They are here to help represent your community. If you have any feedback or suggestions you'd like to see passed along, let them know!

Forum Lead Mission statement;
Forum leads work as advocates for the community, providing WotC with suggestions and ideas regarding their community, while also helping to provide guidance and help to all forum members, new and old.

If you want to know more about the Forum Lead program, or if you have any questions or concerns, please visit the VCL Open Discussion here and let us know.

The leads for this forum are: Trappedslider

If you have any questions, requests, comments, concerns, post them here and I'll make sure the Community Management team knows about it.

So,what are some htings that need to be brought to the attention of CM at this time?

On the next episode of GZR Mike interviews one of the folks behind hte D&DI and I believe a few of the questions that are asked have to dela iwth D20 modern.

Is Wizards going to continue to support D20 Modern, and are they going to '4th-editionize' it?

We have answer for that Gamer Radio Zero and click on epsiode 19,but if you don't want to do that, then heres the low down basically around 2009 is when D20 modern gets some more love....heres what epsiode 19 is about

Blue and Gamer Zer0 celebrate World Wide D&D Game Day by taking their antics on the road and visiting some area game stores. GZ traps Chris Perkins in the RPG section of a local game store and grills him with hard-hitting questions about 4th Edition, D20 Modern, and any other controversial topic he can think up. Dude, shouldn't WotC or board admins already change your title from "Member" to "Forum Lead"?

When will D20 modern receive any kind of new web content? It has been nearly a year since our last bullet points article (Skill Schools 12/22/06), I would point out that bullet points is theoretically supposed to be once every 2 weeks (approx). And its been nearly 2 years since the last d20 modern adventure (Reality Check 1/19/06). Our last installment of modern fiction (chapter 8 Agents of Psi 11/22/05) is more than 2 years old and never finished. And finally, the last notes from the bunker is nearly 3 years old (Adventure writing part 2 2/22/05). I do not count "steel this hook" as modern related content.

Will D20 spectaculars be released? And if so, when?

Why was the D20 modern graphic icon removed from www.wizards.com? I see Magic, D&D, Books, Avalon Hill, Maple Story, Transformers, Starwars, Dreamblade and gleemax but no D20 modern.

No seriously, you're my top choice for this sort of thing for the d20 Modern community, despite my skepticism about the future of Modern. Good show!

I would like to know whether or not WotC is going to continue their support of D20 Modern, or if they are willing to sell the liscence for the game to a company that will actuialy SUPPORT the game. (I.E make something for the game more than every 2 years)

Anybody can produce d20 Modern material because it's part of the open content available - there's no need to sell the license.

Why did Wizards announce a D20 Modern adventure path (Project Javelin) and then completely drop it without even a comment after the first adventure was released?

I'm working with the D&D folks to come up with an expansive FAQ for people about the upcoming launch of Dungeons and Dragons Insider, which will coincide with the release of Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition.

I'm looking to collect the top 40-50 questions that people most frequently ask about the D&DI launch.

I'd appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks,
-Mike

So,what questions do we have as the d20 modern fan base?

Will it actually have anything to do with us, or are we just going to get a little bit of lip service, again?

Question:

How (if at all, at this early stage) do the Wizards intend to package/market d20 Modern "4.0" (or whatever it'll labelled)?

The approach last time was by era (Past, Modern, and Future) and somewhat by genre (modern fantasy in Urban Arcana, Pulp in Past, etc.).

However, I think a more consistent approach would be by genre alone. d20 Sci-Fi would contain space opera, contemporary sci-fi, space opera, cyberpunk, etc. d20 Fantasy would contain the equivalent of Urban Arcana. d20 Action would have contemporary action genres, like modern martial arts (a la Police Story), cops & robbers, army, etc. d20 Spectaculars could contain superheroes, pulp adventure, and fantasy-based martial arts (Crouching Tiger kind of stuff). Alternatively, it might be a good idea to have a d20 Martial Arts book as a separate entity.

Going by genre, you'd have a slimmer base book (some of that information can be moved) and then optional expansion packs which we could buy depending on what we're interested in. Army/police bores the snot out of me, but I'm all over superheroes/pulp adventurers. I'd be quite happy to pay a combined price of US$60 for a base book and a Spectaculars type book. That would cover most of my needs, though I might also pick up a Fantasy book, if it helped round out my games. At any rate, the modular approach means that I would buy more books because I'd have more control over what content I actually pay for.

Have the powers that be thought about this stuff yet? What is their thinking at this time? How can I persuade them to do it my way?

trappedslider,

Knowledge Arcana, recovering from a bout of the willies through most of 2007, is back. We're putting together an off-Gleemax forum here, though folks can still find much of what they're looking for on the Gleemax forums.

I'm the area editor covering d20 Modern (among others). I would LOVE to get submissions from folks playing and GMing d20 Modern, in whatever incarcation that takes.

Instead of starting a new thread, I'd just like to post here that I applied for, and was recently accepted as the Volunteer Community Lead for the d20 Design and d20 Modern boards. VCLs are under Community Management and help with the general flow and content of the boards-- the stuff that isn't code of conduct related.

I'm sure trappedslider and I will work together on anything that is specific to this forum, and I can post the requests from him on the VCL request board. I can help with d20 Future as well.

I see myself as a liaison for the posters on these boards, and will do what I can to improve these boards and facilitate ideas we have!

Yo!

I've talked to you about this sort of stuff before, as I believe. I'm an editor at Phoenix Lore magazine. PL is, essentially, the remnants of Knowledge Arcana that have risen from the ashes.

I'm looking to get in touch with some folks who would like to write for the d20 Modern game. Right now, we have to do all OGL, which rules out d20 Past, Dark*Matter, and... something else but I can't remember. Anyway, a whole lot of the d20M line is OGL, so most of it can be used.

What I need *right now* is an article or two with a decidedly urban theme. Aside from that, though, I'll take anything I can get.

Just pm or email Z if your interested.
