I've been playing in a D20 Future game on and off for the past year, and while we heavily mod things, most of the outward stats and the like remain the same.

Besides the various WOTC books, we've made good use of the 'Modern Player's Companion' (1&2) and the 'Future Player's Companion'. Things don't 100% match up with the Core Rules, but close enough, considering the shaky editing on the official line to start with. :-)

I picked up a copy of 'Blood and Space' a while back on clearance, but found it was written pre-modern D20 (disappointing).

We've also picked up some of Ronin Arts Future 13 pdfs here and there as things looked interesting.

We're reaching a point in the game where we are going to have a lot of tech choices to make (finishing up a huge quest after getting lost in alien space and gaining a mediumweight starship as payment) with regards to equipment and ship upgrades and the like. As well as hiring an alien crew.

To get some stuff to look at other than the core books for variety and 'alien-ness', I've been looking around at the pdf lines available online, and I see that there is a Blood and Space 2 line, which SEEMS like it's been rewritten for D20 Future, and I see something from Ronin Arts called 'Future: Datatstream" which is a collection of pdf publications made in 2005.

Does anyone have experience with these? Do they build on the D20 Core, or do they do their own thing like B&S 1?

Does 'Future: Datastream' include material the Future 13 pdfs, or is it something completely separate? The description is pretty vague - I can't tell if it's a compliation of the other material they have, or stuff they don't sell otherwise.

Looking for opinions.

Thanks.

Future Datastreams Collection is 175 pages of pure awesome.

Contains:
Character Options (feats etc)
Campaign information (organisations, Npcs and rumors)
More gear than you can shake a stick at (for all PLs)
Enviromental information (New diseases, atmosphere conditions, star systems)
gene thearapy stuff+nano stuff
lots of starship stuff
a few vehicles
more mecha
robots
a few more cybernetic enhancements
a few mutations
lots of new xenobiological things (alien races and hazards)

It does not have any of the Future 13 stuff in it.
It builds on d20 future

Not so sure about Blood and space 2 though. Will look into my PDF collection.

Have you also considered Ronin Arts Startship Series? They are good too.

I downloaded the free starship a while back. Our GM prefers to modify the deckplans he has from the old Space Opera game. :-)

Thanks for checking on B&S 2 - it SOUNDS like they updated it for D20 Future, but with the disappointment on the first edition, I want to double check that.

Future: Datastream does sound like it has a lot to offer. Wish the hardcopy was a little cheaper, but looks like I should check it out.

Just wanted to make sure I wasn't duplicating some of the other pdfs we've already bought.

What about looking at current technology and creating some future homebrew... computers with Nano-carbon tubes can increase current processor speeds by 13 or decrease the power used by a dividend of 13... I watch tech/military inovation programs that gives me ideas for my ongoing homebrew!

Could you please provide a link to this "future data streams collection" as I can't seem to find it?

Sorry about that - I didn't check back on this thread in awhile. Here you go:

BTW, I do recommend it. It has a little bit of everything, from medium mecha to mutations to robots to starships. As well as NPCs and plot hooks.
