Jun 16, 2009 15:01:40 Living room, and when the weather is nice, outside on the deck. The deck is preferred as it allows us to keep gaming without pausing for the smoking group every 2-4 hours.

Jun 16, 2009 17:09:02 Sadly, all my gaming is online right now. My friends have all moved around the country, so we get together with Skype and Fantasy Grounds (or maptool). My last Modern game was also my last in person game about three months ago.

BTW, we could use another player or two for our Saturday D&D 3e game... just sayin'...

Jun 16, 2009 19:25:52 Actually, we are using the Pathfinder beta version until Pathfinder (sort of like D&D 3.75) comes out this summer. Its been good so far. I really like the Sorcerer and Fighter rebuilds.

Jun 16, 2009 22:18:25 A big board-room table is the best. You need enough room to lay out a battle-mat, and character sheets, and space for dice-rolling. That's my favourite space to play in. Couches in a living room gets too casual, people lounge around. It's not conducive, I find.

Jun 16, 2009 22:32:20 It depends on the place for me. I always play at friends' houses because it'd be selfish of me to make them waste gas coming out of town to my place. :P

Regular places:
Friend's parent's place, Dining Room. 'Tis really nice in the summer 'cause one of its walls has a built-in cooler. Downside is that we can't speak very loudly (and most of my gaming group is pretty bad about volume. Fortunately, the campaign I GM here is for my quieter sub-group.)

Friend's livingroom. This one's nice 'cause it's open... thus by far the best place to play large-group RPGs in. The group's main GM holds his campaign here, which is good because he's one of our two no-volume-adjustment guy's.

Best gaming place we've ever had was another friend's place (or rather his parents' place). Really big house so we had a huge, open, comfy place to play and don't have to worry about bothering people. Since he's back now, maybe we'll get to game there again...

Jun 17, 2009 6:10:03 We play at my condo. The home office is large enough to place a folding table a made myself. When the game is finished the table goes back in the closet.

We also have a second venue. Once per year, in November, we do a 48 hour gaming blitz at a friend's cottage near a lake. Sweet.

Yes. It happened to us. Unclean location with unclean people and smelly pets. All the drapes and windows were closed. To top it off they smoked.... Never went there again.

I HATE IT SO MUCH when these people are oblivious to their own stench! Seeing someone's dog eat out of an old box of Chinese food laying UNDER THE TABLE was enough for me .
