| #1ravengraygemDec 09, 2010 13:40:18 | Several questions and issues I've come across since filling my bookshelf with d20 Modern's line of books. I'd appreciate any help I can get with these, and thank you in advance for your help.
d20 Modern Regarding the Soldier advanced class's tactical aid ability, would be unbalanced or broken to blend the errata'd and RAW as written versions of the ability as follows:
Attack action and no AP cost for single ally, +1 bonus applies to attack rolls for rounds equal to half Soldier's level; then full-round and 1 AP cost for all allies, +1 bonus applies to attack or Defense for rounds equal to half Soldier's level plus Int modifier.
d20 Future/Future Tech
(d20 F) Are mecha copilot and passenger cockpit equipment slot requirements instead of the standard cockpit equipment slot requirment, or in addition to that requirement?
(d20 FT) I can't make sense of the range and target listing for Venom Corrosive spray. Are those entries correct as listed? If not, what are the correct listings?
(d20 FT) What is the purchase DC for Venom Corrosive Spray reloads?
(d20 FT) What is the size category of a Shock Tether?
(d20 FT) What is the purchase DC for Shock Tether reloads? (Since the tethers can be destroyed, they obviously can't be reused afterwards.)
Regarding the Helix Warrior advanced class, would it be unbalanced or broken to require characters to be either franks or moreaus, or humans who have undergone gene therapy, in order to select it?
Regarding the Tracer advanced class, would it be unbalanced or broken to allow the target ability to be applied to groups, nations, etc. (The bonuses would only be granted when the Tracer knows he's facing a member of the chosen group; they must identify themselves, wear the group's insignia, be known associates, and so forth. The Tracer could reasonably assume that anyone in a facility filled with members of the chosen group is also a member, until proven otherwise, even if they don't wear insignia or identify themselves as such.)
Request I need five advanced classes for a zero-F/X futuristic (PL 6-7) campaign. I need one each based off of the Fast, Smart, and Tough hero basic classes, and two based off of the Strong hero basic class. The campaign features genetic engineering in the form of franks, moreaus, and gene therapy, mecha, cybernetics, and starships limited to interplanetary travel, if those provide any help in answering the request. Published sources or homebrew are fine with me, but I've already culled all of WotC's d20 offerings, as well as those of the Game Mechanics, so those two are out.
Odd Question In Polyhedron #168, a group called FEAR was detailed. I was wondering if perhaps anyone could tell me the rules (or tell me where to find them myself) for the tactical radio, computer interface glove, and combat plate items mentioned in passing in various equipment lists.

First: Welcome to d20 gaming, specifically d20 Modern. Second: Your idea is perfectly valid. Let none dissuade you. Remember that it is always okay to modify (houserule) anything in the books if that is what you and your group dicide to do. |
