Plus this summer Green Ronin is releasing a d20 style roleplaying adaptation of Wild Cards, so it's of interest to gamers, especially since I know there are some folk who are already doing their own homebrew with d20and routinely adapt content from one system to another, which is a standard gamer passtime. Anyway, as some of you may know, I'm one of the authors for Wild Cards, George R.R. Martin's superhero shared world anthology series, which has been going on lo these many years and more to the point has a new volume, Inside Straight, the first book of the grand new relaunch from Tor. More than that, on of the main backdrops for the plot of Inside Straight is the superhero reality television show American Hero, and Tor has been kind enough to set up a website for it, completely in character, with some neat new artwork for all the characters drawn by Mike Miller. That includes 28 headshots of various characters who could easily be used for other modern setting roleplaying games. Plus it also has confessionals from the various characters, giving you stuff to read found nowhere in Inside Straight. See, look: http://americanhero.wildcardsbooks.com/ My characters are Rosa Loteria and The Maharajah. Rosa just had one confessional, and Raj should have his soon. Anyway, discuss and enjoy. Most of these characters have not yet been statted up for actual RPG purposes, but I think super hero gamers will figure out how immediately. Thanks! I did buy the GURPS Wild Cards rpg version more for its discussion of the book series and its universe than the game itself. Now to get Inside Straight at the local book store. And see what's going on there. And hope the D20 versions of Wild Cards comes out soon. |
