Since the end of the Grim Frequencies line of free adventures will never be finished, I'm interested to hear what you guys think the big secret would be. Here's my crazy idea:

The mysterious transmissions are being sent by agents from one of two possible futures engaged in a Temporal Cold War, each striving to affect history so that their future will become The Future. Darryl Brzezinski's movie is the backdoor to a nexus point in History vital to the success of one side of the Time War.

In one version of the 51st Century, Humanity is at the core of an alliance of races that banded together to defeat the I'Krl Theocracy, a conquering empire from the Perseus Arm of the Galaxy, back in 2505. This was mostly due to the actions of one man, Jack Wyatt Cassidy (or insert the name of your favorite Star*Drive PC here), who led efforts to forge alliances among powers threatened by the enemy and to repel the invaders. When time-travel was developed in the 50th Century, I'krlist holdouts among the Gardhyi stole the technology, dreaming of using it to undo their humiliating defeat and restoring the Theocracy to its rightful place as masters of the Galaxy. Their first attempt was to assassinate Cassidy, but this was quickly undone by the human Time Agents who had pursued them into the past. This brought to light one of the major problems of fighting an active Time War, namely that whatever you do to change history can be immediately undone by your opponent travelling back to prevent your meddling. Attempts to assassinate Cassidy's parents, grandparents, and other ancestors also met with pre-emptive failure, and the Gardhyi were forced to change tactics and the conflict became a Temporal Cold War. Neither side can move openly, as their interference would be quickly detected and prevented, so subtler, indirect methods, such as working through intermediaries native to the time period being contested to alter small and seeming inconsequential events, are employed. That's were the PCs come in.

The Gardhyi are behind the accidents plaguing Brzezinski's film, and the human Time Agents are contacting the heroes through the unexplained radio messages. The complex reasons are as follows:

Brzezinski is adapting the greatest work of cult favorite horror novelist Ward Phillips into a film. Ordinary guy Dave Cassidy is a huge fan of Phillips, and is so looking forward to this film that he will rush out to see it opening night. At the theater, he will meet Kate Jenkins, with whom he will eventually fall in love and marry. Their union produces a son, and the lineage extends to the 25th Century in the person of Jack Cassidy.

If Brzezinski's film is never finished, Dave never gows to see it on the scheduled night. He never meets Kate. She marries someone else, and Jack Wyatt Cassidy is never born. The I'krl Theocracy crushes all resistance and rules the Galaxy with an iron fist for millennia. Hence, the Time Agents have recruited the heroes (in a manner of speaking) to make sure the show must go on.

What's your take on the big secret behind the broadcasts?

1) Locate the point where the planet of the I'Krl Theocracy formed
2) Find the biggest bomb you have, of a neutron star
3) Prevent the planet from forming, If you use the neutron star, it is also likely that you will make their sun explode as well. Lots of fun, and a Neutron star is pretty hard to stop.

Mentioning the terminator, make sure to have high enough starting level so a player can play one. (thank you future tech)
