| #1RagitsuNov 27, 2009 0:24:47 | It's probably too late for everyone else, but seeing as how there's one hours and forty minutes left today, I figure "better late than never".![]() |
| #2Master_VegaNov 27, 2009 1:48:07 | Happy Thanksgiving. :D I'm currently thankful for my family, who was able to visit and keep me off of the computer for the day. |
| #3TheRealOrionNov 27, 2009 15:57:39 | Yes, Happy Yankee Turkey Day, Americans. You've officially started the gauntlet of American Winter holidays. Have fun. |
| #4RagitsuNov 27, 2009 16:09:29 | And so begins the period of lethargy. |
| #5TheRealOrionNov 27, 2009 17:21:07 | You finished a sentence, all the way through. Clearly, you haven't had enough stuffing covered in gravy. |
| #6Master_VegaNov 27, 2009 22:54:01 | Yes, Happy Yankee Turkey Day, Americans. You've officially started the gauntlet of American Winter holidays. Have fun. You don't have to tell me twice. I work in retail and today was my least favorite day of the year. If you want to have your faith in humanity torn from the very depths of your soul, your trust in the common sense in others burned painstakingly from your heart, and your assuredness that truly people can't be that stupid purged from your mind, work in retail. Your image of your fellow man will plummit as you see the worst come out in just about everyone. ... And you will either laugh at it, or cry. I choose to laugh. :P In any case, Thanksgiving in my family is when we all come to my grandpa's house (which I'm currently living in) and spend time catching up. There isn't much "I give thanks for" or whatever, just us socializing and having fun. Oh, and we had marinated roast beef this year. lol |

Your image of your fellow man will plummit as you see the worst come out in just about everyone. Now, are you referring to the merchants, customers, or both ? |
| #8narukagamiNov 27, 2009 23:41:37 | Yes, Happy Yankee Turkey Day, Americans. You've officially started the gauntlet of American Winter holidays. Have fun. Something tells me you have some storytime gold there. Do tell! ![]() This Thanksgiving I was thankful for my family and all the past Thanksgivings where I happily engorged on massive amounts of food, as this Thanksgiving I am in Tokyo, and thus thousands of miles away from my family, and the only food I engorged myself on was from the local convienience store... |
| #9Master_VegaNov 28, 2009 2:31:24 | Ragitsu - Mostly customers, though salespeople on commission are avatars of Satan himself... at least I'm pretty sure. >_> Narukagami - It would take its own thread, a bad day without the family here to cheer me up, and a box of cheesy, heavily topped bliss oft referred to as pizza for me to convey the depths of sorrow the retail industry has brought my inner optimist as well as the events leading up to this laughable tragedy. Said tragedy has been two and a half years in the making, though I must confess my faith in mankind died within six months of my actually having a job. However, I may try to write it anyway. Keep in mind that some humor might require retail experience to be fully appreciated. I do have a wealth of customer and sales-newbie face-palm moments to recount, so maybe I'll start with those. |
