I'm currently reading book one of three from the Exodus - Hellgate London books and it is really inspiring me to run a D20 Modern/future/urban arcana game using that setting.
It would seem a perfect campaign setting, with so much scope. Problem is I now need to sit down and sort out the basics.
I need to adapt the creatures, weapons, armour, and so forth, so any ideas would be great.

the first one is called Exodus, by Mel Odom. The second one is called Goetia, I haven't read that yet. Third one is due to come out in august, but the second one got postponed once or twice, so I wouldn't be surprised if that one was too.
edit: Game-wise, I would say that all the high-tech weapons count as magic for the purpose of bypassing damage resistance, at least. All the demons have damage resistance against non-magic things, some might have one that is more difficult to bypass. I think they would also have regeneration that is bypassed by magic damage, maybe just the regeneration and not the damage resistance.

I suggest using a miniturized recoiless gun, if you want some nice toys for this use.
or you could just have the guns enchanted (flaming AK-47, ect.)

I.E the demons would only have damage reduction if they were of a Higher level, Because the Weapons would negate it. (Fist fighters would have to wear gauntlets or Gloves of Somekind however.)

In the year 2012, an Invasion Began. However, this invasion was not one country against another. A Force, Not of this world, attacked us. The Knights Templar, an Ancient Order, Were ready to Fight, But Had not the Power to defeat them Decisively.
One of the Hell rifts, the portals the Demons Attacked from, Opened in an Umbrella Corporations Underground Facility, Killing Everyone Inside, but as a Result, Releasing Strains of the T-Virus. The humans that were effected by this Virus, became Zombies, Even animals and Plants were effected and Became strange mutations. Insects Especially Grew to Exponential size, and Became much more Hostile. The Demons however, became things much worse. Imps, and Gremlins became Creatures Known as Lickers, Ravagers Grew and Became Hunters. A few years after the Invasion began, Umbrella managed to capture some of the Demons, and Injected them with a New strain of the T-virus, Known as the G-virus. These demons Mutated and grew and became Creatures known as Tyrants. At least 1 other is known to have become a Terrifying Creature, fully under Umbrella's Control, known only as the Nemesis.
Due to the Invasion, and the Breach at the Umbrella Facility, more then 60% of the Human race was Wiped out.
The year is now 2023. The human race has created weapons imbued with a Latent magic property. Other Magicks have also entered the world, and the Cabalists have learned to control it. Many of the Firearms and Blades now cause fire to burst forth from the attacks they make, in an attempt to destroy the Demons and Undead that now walk the streets.
The Citizens of London now live Underground, in the Tube Stations, Guarded by Magics placed there by the Freemasons Who Built the underground systems.
Will Probably start away from London, Possibly starting in Stafford. Home base Possibly in the Uni.

I do like the hell-gate theroy though, image that a rip to another diminsion opens and other worldy creatres pour out. man kind would be over whelmed, and yes some would fight back but i fear it would be a lost cause. But lost causes are the most fun to fight for. Blending advanced tech with magic can cause quite a few problems.
The first comes to mind is a Railgun (3d12) with seeker rounds (ammo upgrade) then enchanted with the gunslinger prestige class to let loose a fireball on impact. in one of my champains i watch the entire enemy line go up in flames in 1 shot, the fight was over. you have to find a nice balance omit certian classes like well gunslinger might be one or Techno mage.
