How would I go about creating my concept for a Star Wars Saga Edition game?

Hello everybody, i have absolutely ZERO familairity with the mechanics of this game. and I might be playing a 'well establish, but long hiatus' campaign ( if thats what this is even called)

I know very little about the campaign set

1 it not a canon setting, The jedi council split into to 1st is th one we all know and they joined the rebellion the 2nd which supports an empire, just not one that is lead by a Sith lord.

2) the players are prett high level, with each of them being able to defeat  Darth Vader and 2 of them being jedi masters

3) every book is allowed

now on to my concept.

I would like to play  Gray jedi, specifially a  Jensaarai. I think this 'faction' or wahtever you would call it strikes me as teh coolest. Trying to find the very truth of the Force as neither the Jedi nor the Sith or other dark practioners know the truth  though maybe the Aing-Tii are closer than anybody else.

Plus the visual i have of a light saber wielding dude in super cool cortosis armor is sweet.

Just wondering  if you can give any hints on what I can do (classes/feas/abilities/whatever) to accomplish this

Sorry I didn't see this earlier.  Right off I'll just plug the SWSE Forum created when WotC shut down the official SAGA Edition Forum here.  It still gets frequented by a number of people who are familar with the game and will love to provide what help they can with questions like this.

Ok, I believe there is plenty of information missing here but I can offer a few insights.  The first I'm afraid is that the GM should really just "start over" from a lower point.  Maybe not 1st level but something more in the range of 5-8.  I'm sorry but if EACH of the players is able to defeat Darth Vader, a CL 19 character, there really isn't any room to grow unless there are all kinds of house rules getting thrown in that I'm not aware of.  To be honest, when the PCs get over 15th-level the feel of "Star Wars" as we know it really needs to change because there really shouldn't be all that much that challenges super heroes of that level.  I've never been a fan of writing full 20th-level character builds which I'm afraid is what you may need.

Now to me the ultimate Jensaarai is some combination of Soldier, Jedi, and Imperial Knight assuming your GM opens that class up a little more.  I'll note that the IK (found in the Legacy Era CG) has the one talent in the game I REMOVE as it combines two of the better talents in the game into a single talent which you just happen to be reaching the perfect point to take it; that talent is Armor Mastery/Knight's Armor talent tree (need all of that because it can also take Armor Mastery from the Armor Specialist talent tree) which combines Armored Defense and Improved Armored Defense although I do replace it with a talent I call "Armored Knight" which instead combines Improved Armored Defense and Juggernaut while having Armored Defense as a prereq.  The Jensaarai is about armor so the talents you really want will be: Imbue Armor, Armored Defense and Improved Armored Defense.  To me the Imperial Knight Armor (LECG) should be used to represent the Jensaarai Defender's armor and as Medium Weight armor you will need that proficiency.  When you go in on armor you may want to go more into boosting your REF Defense to make you nearly unhittable so the only things you worry about are critical hits and perhaps area attacks.

Assuming you use PB 28 for stats I say you want a very balanced array with 14s in STR, DEX, and possibly even WIS but with no stats below 10 in anything.  I'd probably start a Jensaarai Defender in the Soldier class if I'm eventually going to be wearing Medium Armor and select Force Sensitivity as my first level feat.  At 2nd-level (or perhaps even later) I'd multiclass into Jedi to pick up the Lightsaber weapon proficiency.  Assuming Jedi Knight or Imperial Knight will be allowed for your character I'd be looking at a 3/4 or even 5/2 split between Jedi and Soldier level (doesn't really matter which is the higher level) before taking a Knight class at 8th-level.  Around 8th-level you'll be wanting to get an Improved Armored Defense type talent which will probably see your REF Defense skyrocket.  For your general character feats you'll probably be taking Force Training.

You're welcome.

Considering how long WotC had the StarWars RPG it was a bit disappointing when they remove the forums supporting those games.  It certainly makes it harded to find information about them unless you happen to get lucky and run across someone in the know.  I'm not too surprised by the reception this would have gotten on the GiTP board; I don't think they've ever had anything to do with StarWars and I'm not sure how seriously they'd take the game.

As for your character concept there are people who will argue against any non-standard concept.  I'm not entirely sure I understand it but at least I believe I understand some of what your character needs/wants in terms of game mechanics.  My further comments will be on the SAGAcontinues forum.
