| #3zylo_drizztJun 09, 2010 0:21:01 | I cant figure out how the craft rules work. I need help or some sort of explanation. need to know how apocolypes craft rules work. |
| #4TheRealOrionJun 09, 2010 0:28:29 | Okay, so, you've read rules in the core manual and the additional rules in Apoc. What part doesn't make sense? |
| #5zylo_drizztJun 09, 2010 0:30:04 | well I guess I am stuck on the whole dnd rules for crafting so maybe just go through it step by step with me please. |
| #6DwarfFighterJun 09, 2010 8:16:01 | Crafting is simple. First decide on the item you wish to craft! This gives you the following:
You make the Craft check and if you succeed you've made the item you wanted. If you fail the check you've made nothing useful and you've wasted the time and materials. Notice that some Craft skills require tools (represented by a kit of sorts). Without these tools you take a hefty penalty to your check. How the Apocalypse rules come into play I don't know. -DF |

| #8TheRealOrionJun 11, 2010 14:37:50 | In Apoc, instead of spending money on supplies, you make a "parts check." |
| #9shivian52Jul 07, 2010 13:50:28 | Lets say you were trying to make a weapon, and you fail the check. Could you dismantle the failed attempt for most of the parts or would all the parts be lost? |
| #10backstabbistJul 07, 2010 21:55:38 | Modern SDR: Skills: Craft (overview) To use Craft, first decide what the character is trying to make and consult the category descriptions below. Make a Wealth check against the given purchase DC for the object to see if the character succeeds in acquiring the raw materials. If the character succeeds at that check, make the Craft check against the given DC for the object in question. If the character fails the check, he or she does not make the object, and the raw materials are wasted (unless otherwise noted). Generally, a character can take 10 when using a Craft skill to construct an object, but can't take 20 (since doing so represents multiple attempts, and the character uses up the raw materials after the first attempt). The exception is Craft (writing); a character can take 20 because the character does not use up any raw materials (and thus no Wealth check is required to use the skill). so However, some materials are Recyclable.. no matter how badly you blow glass, you just remelt it and blow again. This is introducing an entirely additional process to most construction: Resmelting the carbon steel after you mill cut too deep making a gun is NOT to be taken lightly. The d20 Apoc rules for Salvage are... well... we have had plenty of discourse on the silliness written into the Salvage rules regarding PartsMechanical and AmmoReloading
