I'm just trying to figure out the best way to create an incantation for a higher-level d20 Modern adventure (levels 12~14).

The basic gist of it will be that someone close to the PCs was kidnapped by a cult of dragon worshipers, and they have six days to find her before the cult's high priests transform her into either a dragon or half-dragon (not entirely sure yet, leaning towards half-dragon).

But the gist of what I have is as follows:

Dragonbirth
Seeds: Transform, Compel
Skill Check: Knowledge (Arcane Lore) DC 34, 9 successes
Failure: Two consecutive failed skill checks
Components: Verbal, somatic, material, focus, 1000 XP, backlash
Casting Time: 9 hours (minimum)
Secondary Casters: 10
Range: Touch
Target: One humanoid creature
Duration: Permanent
Saving Throw: Fort negates (DC 19 + caster's Charisma modifier)
Material component: Incense partially created from dragon blood (purchase DC 30)
Focus component: A massive egg-shaped coccoon, crafted from silver and dragon scales, inside which the target is placed (purchase DC 35)
Backlash: Caster and secondary casters reduced to -1 HP.

Total DC: 34
32 (Seed: Transform)
10 (Seed: Compel) (One-third, secondary seed)
5 (Change humanoid to dragon)
6 (Duration: Hours to days)
10 (Duration: Days to permanent)
-2 (Unwilling target must be helpless)
-2 (Range: Close to touch)
-10 (XP Cost: 1000 XP)
-2 (5 secondary casters)
-1 (Backlash: Affects secondary casters too)
-3 (Backlash: Casters reduced to -1 HP)
-2 (Expensive focus purchase)
-4 (Expensive material component purchase)
-3 (Target: Limited target- humanoid only)

The dragonbirth incantation transforms one humanoid creature into a half-dragon, permanently granting it the half-dragon template (the color of the dragon scales used determines the chromatic or metallic dragon-related abilities.) Not only does it confer all the abilities of such a transformation, it also overrides the target's mental faculties, essentially making them a thrall of the main caster. The target loses all of her previous allegiances and gains allegiances to her color of dragon and the ritual's main caster (in that order).

Any ideas/suggestions/improvements would be most appreciated! =D

The spell looks okay. I wouldn't worry about these details if the Pcs are'nt going to be learning the spell? Just have the physical details of the coccoon and alter room ?
