| #2AnimeSniperApr 23, 2013 19:26:35 | Our GM is starting up a D20 Apocalypse game and I'm playing a former mechanic who will be inventing nifty items for the party, all new ideas are welcome. Quite Inventive... for the Rod of Light you could also for the carrier of the pole rod have a small harness of batteries, maybe the big square 9 volt or a jet ski/marine battery, that weights x-pounds and has small spool of retractable wires that can be attached to pommel grip of the pole rod and instead of light bulbs you could have LED bulbs For the Shock Shield you could have either multiple contact studs, the small discharge emitters, and maybe and on/off button either inside the shield arm mount or small button that the carrier has in their gloved hand... you can even allow for the same battery harness I mentioned above Sturdy mount to the floor + car alternator + belt + old bicycle + jumper cables = a small charging station... I think |

This is a pretty interesting find. |

| #6AleGolemApr 30, 2013 16:34:55 | Speaking of improving upon existing technology, it seems the gadget system could be implemented in an apocalypse setting. All gadgets would of course be makeshift one off inventions made by talented waste mechanics/electricians. Electrified melee weapons could just be batteries taped to the handle and wired to the blade while it'd be easy, if not pretty, to add some mundane gear to armor. Does the flamethrower count as an "energy" weapon for the purposes of gadgets? |
| #7kronos182May 01, 2013 19:10:25 | A better electrified weapon would be attaching a tazer to a weapon, re-wired to run the contacts to the weapon blade. A spear/polearm would be excellent as you can incorporate the tazer straight into the weapon head, wiring the trigger further down the handle/shaft. Oh.. if the PCs have a vehicle, they can rig up a system for recharging batteries. Using a combination of solar panels (mounted on roof or trunk/hood) and motion powered system rigged to the wheels, using a trickle charge system that leads to a large battery in the trunk (to power other items) and a voltage/amp regulator to a series of plugs/universal battery slots (A/AA/AAA, 9 volt, C/D and the like). Or for those on foot, a motion powered system. Take one of those radios or flashlights that you charge by widing the chank, attach to a pulley system that hooks to your boots/straps to legs, fit to a backpack with a large lithion-ion battery (like a large laptop battery type) for power devices like helmet mounted light, radios, etc, and to battery slots for plugging in rechargable batteries using trickle charge system. This way you can charge batteries while walking around between towns. |

I like it, I’ve been trying to figure out a good way to recharge batteries as it appears, based on some of the designs I’ve come up with, that I’ll have a lot of them. |
| #9AnimeSniperMay 03, 2013 6:04:39 | maybe a small steam powered engine connected to a steam turbine wheel that could be built small enough that when placed in the fire it would allow for x-charge time of things A good item for construction parts would be a Mag Lite... simply remove the lightbulb and attach the tazer bits or other things and you immediately have a battery compartment and switch... A few concepts for the settlements that you and your fellow could come across. Hydroelectrical Dams would see occupation by either bad guys or something like in here rage.wikia.com/wiki/Dam_Facility Wind Turbines en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wind_turbine Wind/Water Mills en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_mill & en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windmill |

Improved Armor Light By trial and error you have figured a way to increase the overall protection of light armor like the football pads by add thin section of riveted together tire to the pads.
Improved Armor Medium- By trial and error you have figured a way to increase the overall protection of light armor like the football pads by adding thin strips of overlappin aluminum or steel

RAGE http://rage.wikia.com/wiki/Engineering_items give a general list of what you can craft http://rage.wikia.com/wiki/Schematics the items with a Parts Lists
Dead Island http://deadisland.wikia.com/wiki/Mods
C4 Bolts/Arrows By combining military grade C4/RDX with a small cigar tube, percussion/pencil detonator you create launchable ordnance from afar 1 Block c4/rdx or other explosive + x-cigar tubes + x-number Pencil Detonator + x-number of bolts/arrows |
